An investment fund manager is thrown into a taxi. Brady and Riley investigate and learn his practice were hostile takeovers. They learn he was presently eyeing a pharmaceutical company. His first act is to remove the CEO. They suspect an employee of the company and when they get evidence that proves he's the one. They arrest him. Price proceeds to prosecute with the assumption he was concerned that he could lose his job. But when they get evidence defense shoots down that theory. They look into other possible motives. They learn the manager may have found a way to remove the CEO. And they learn the company's working on a drug to treat a rare illness. And that someone he knows needs it. And that the manager would have halted research if he had his way.

A senior partner at law firm is found beaten to death. Price and Brady investigate and learn the man had been considering discontinuing their government contracts which means the firm stands to lose several million dollars. They have a witness who encountered someone leaving at the time of the murder they identify one of the firm's lawyers and they arrest him. After Brady talks to him he asserts that he has diplomatic immunity. They learn the man's father is an Arabian diplomat and by law is entitled to to diplomatic immunity immunity. Baxter tells Price to find a way around it. And he does and the man is charged and tried. Baxter is approached by someone from Washington who wants Baxter to drop the case because they have relations with his country. They proceed but when the witness changes his account. They suspect intimidation and find out by who.

Which means they stand to lose millions. So they arrest the father.but they have a tough time building a case. So Walker who's never investigated a homicide looks for the evidence they need.

So they try to find her attacker. They narrow it down to her employer. They arrest him, and the D.A. prosecutes him, but when the case seems hopeless, they think one of the victims' friends might know something, but she's reluctant to testify.

A man who works for the FAA is killed. Price and walker investigate, while they come up with a few suspects that they rule out, they focus their attention on a woman who's husband a helicopter pilot died in a crash and the victim was part of the investigation and he rule her husband was at fault, which she couldn't accept. They go and see her and find her with the murder weapon and talking to her husband. The husband is an AI that she converses with and tells her they are trying to get him. Which I what motivated her to kill the man.
