A teacher is shot and they investigate. They learn that a rap song that talks about shooting the teacher was posted. They locate the one who wrote it and learn that it's a student who is in the foster system. They arrest him when he tried to run. He says he didn't mean to do it. He was upset that the teacher was going to report him which would have placed him in juvenile system. The prosecution tries to decide whether or not if they should try him as an adult. Baxter decides to prosecute him as an adult. When they learn the school principal was aware of his intentions and didn't do anything they chose to prosecute him too. But Shaw who empathizes with the boy learns he might not be un responsible as he claims.

When the dean of a prep school is killed. Shaw and Riley investigate they learn that she gives students with disabilities special considerations so they think that a parent may have felt their child was treated fairly. They discover that a parent was vocal of the Dean's treatment of her daughter. They eventually get a video of the murder and arrest the woman's daughter. When Brady talks to her she confesses to killing the dean. But when the confession is suppressed they have to go trial. And the mother does something that casts doubt. Brady has an issue with her son.

They believe that the dealer they were pursuing killed him cause the gun used is his. So they track him down and arrest him but he says he didn't have his gun with him. He placed it in a bag that had drugs and cash. When they learn no bag was turned in, they check body can footage and learn the bag was there. Which leads to think someone on the team took the bag and used it to kill the cop. Brady needs to investigate the cops at her old precinct.
