Shaw has a new partner Vincent Riley and they investigate the murder of a university president. They learn the man took a firm stanc3 of freedom of speech which made him controversial. They discover he opposed the actions of students who protested Israel's stance against Palestine. They go to to talk to the students but a member of the faculty tells them to leave.Shaw notices something that helps them identify the killer a student. They arrest him and he is tried. During the course he was coerced into the crime by the faculty member who supports their opposition. So the faculty member is arrested and tried.

And the father of the girl he raped who couldn't accept his vindication who revealed the man's broke. But he supposedly got a 10 million dollar settlement . They learn that the man's lawyer got the money and only gave him 10% of it and kept the rest as compensation for working on his case for 12 years.when they discover that he fits the description a witness gave. And his client was going to accuse of dereliction of duty just as he's about to be appointed to a judgeship. They arrest him but Price doubts his guilt despite the evidence.
