Her divorce lawyer tells them that she was concerned her husband was hiding assets. They find Lauren's body buried near the kennel but also learn that Jay Carlin may have been defrauding buyers of supposedly rare wines.

There is little doubt that Sanderson was at the courthouse where Dresner was run over but when no one is available to represent him at his arraignment, the presiding judge orders ADA Connie Rubirosa to step across to the other side and represent him. When Sanderson insists that she continue as his attorney, she finds herself going up against ADA Michael Cutter and doing a very good job of it. When she discovers that the victim was a Sanderson's former friend who may have also had an affair with Sanderson's dead wife, she begins to wonder if she can advise her client with the impartiality that is needed.
