Episode 1

The Durango Brothers

The three Durango brothers bring home a drummer to spend the night and meet their younger sister Lottie. At 25 their mother thinks it is a disgrace she isn't married but none of the suitors they bring suit Lottie. Back in town the boys spend their time in the saloon where Homer is known as the champion of arm wresting besting all comers. Cheyenne enters the saloon after one of Homer's victories as they celebrate. Homer challenges him since Cheyenne has $30 to bet. To their surprise Cheyenne wins prompting Homer to want to beat up Cheyenne until the boys realize he might be the one for Lottie. They offer him lodging and meals which Cheyenne accepts. Lottie is instantly attracted to him putting into motion their plans for a wedding - without Cheyenne's consent. Unknown to them Cheyenne is a deputy looking for signs of six men who went missing in the area. His refusal to marry Lottie set in motion plans for him to become number seven as Cheyenne evades them in a comedy of errors.

Satonka

While stopping to rest in the Desolation Mountains, Cheyenne hears a man screaming for help. As he maneuvers to find the source he sees a man scrambling across the top of the rocks. The man falls to his death after something attacks him. Cheyenne finds the body badly smashed. He buries it and takes a bag of items the man was carrying. As he comes out of the mountains to a nearly deserted town, he is met by four men and Carol Dana looking for her father Dr. Clark Dana. The items belong to her father but the man killed was his guide. Cheyenne offers to take them to the body. Three of the men go with him while Ernie Riggins stays behind with Carol. Carol and Ernie take shelter that evening in a deserted shack during a rain storm. They are joined by Mark Kendall who was hired by a mining company to find what is haunting the mountains. When they join Cheyenne, Cheyenne finds himself as bait for the mysterious Satonka.

Sweet Sam

Cheyenne arrives in a small quiet town due to a letter he received from the owner of the local bank, Cyrus Burton. He drops off his horse at Eli Zachary's livery stable. Eli's son Billy has one leg that has withered due to an earlier sickness forcing Billy to use a crutch. Billy is withdrawn due to the condition and the pampering of his father. At the bank Cheyenne learns Cyrus did not write him but he might have need of Cheyenne's talents. His bank is the temporary holding site for refined gold before the Army takes it to the mint but they are delayed picking it up. Cheyenne agrees to ride to the fort to speed them up. As he and Cyrus head to the saloon, a man picks on the city drunk Hank DeLieu. A stranger Sam Pridemore takes the gun away forcing the man to run. He and Cheyenne know each other from years ago. Sam turns out to be a miracle worker for the citizens with his various talents. However, a bank robbery has Cheyenne and Cyrus with a different thought.

Episode 4

Man Alone

Cheyenne is trailing footprints leading a horse he found. Buzzards overhead lead him to a young man unconscious with a wound on his head. The boy is woozy and unable to stand. Cheyenne takes him to Dr. Elwood Burns in Rawlins who notices the head wound is from a bullet grazing him. He is forced to stay at the doctor's home where the doctor's niece Julie not only helps tend to him but takes a strong interest in him. Cheyenne had been sent for by Jed Belden at the Green River bank for a job but the bank was held up. The sheriff and a deputy were killed and $50,000 taken. Four men held it up and a young man rode off with the money. Upon hearing the story, Cheyenne suspects the young man they call Billy may be the one who rode off with the cash. He returns to see Billy only to learn Billy shot two outlaws. Cheyenne chases down Billy to talk to him. Cheyenne notices that Billy's gun is custom made by Carl Turner in Bittercreek, Wyoming. What he learns there puts a whole new perspective on things.

The Quick and the Deadly

Cheyenne is the marshal running the prison wagon for the Huntsville prison in Texas. He stops in Travis County for a pickup in the middle of a trial. The local banker's son Jud Ainley is being tried for murder with Deputy Gary Thomas as the prime witness who saw him commit the crime. At Jud Ainsley's murder trial, evidence turns up that discredits Thomas' testimony, and in fact Thomas is arrested and charged with robbery as Ainley is released. However, after a mysterious gang attacks Cheyenne's prison wagon taking Thomas to prison, Cheyenne begins to suspect that Thomas was, as he claimed, framed. Thomas identifies two of the attackers killed as friends of Ainley. Thomas takes advantage of the situation to escape. Cheyenne sends his Deputy on with the prisoners and returns to track down Thomas before he gets revenge that night. Back in town as Cheyenne begins to uncover evidence clearing Thomas, the witnesses start dying as Ainley and his men roam the streets looking for Thomas.

Episode 6

Indian Gold

In 1868 the government signs a treaty with the Sioux reserving the Black Hills to the Sioux and forbidding whites to cross into the territory. Cheyenne has been working as a freighter but makes his last trip. His friend Matt Kilgore has assumed the job of sheriff. As they talk, the Sioux brave White Crow rides into town looking for help for his sick wife Little Fawn. Cheyenne and Doc Farnsworth return with White Crow to find Little Fawn is in the last stages of tuberculosis. The only help might be to send her to Denver but that is not possible due to a lack of money and her being an Indian. Later, after two men bring in two miners who were shot and scalped, White Crow brings a sack of gold to pay for the trip. The sheriff asks Cheyenne's help in keeping the incident from breaking out into an Indian war. Kilgore is a blood brother to the Sioux. Some men hope to locate where the gold came from, in violation of the treaty by torturing White Crow and Little Fawn.

Dark Decision

Cheyenne is driving 3000 head of cattle to market to sell to Nathan Alston in Galesburg who also owns a successful casino, the Golden Horseshoe. Near town a thunderstorm causes the cattle to stampede. They trample a wagon carrying a blind woman Constance Mason and her maid Cleo. Cheyenne has his men fix the wagon and accompanies them to town. He learns she is an accomplished singer so he tells her he knows of a respectable job in Wichita at a church leading a choir. However, Constance wants to be independent and upon learning about Alston's casino she obtains a job there singing against the wishes of Cheyenne. There she runs into Tony Chance who is a gambler along with his partner Joe. After losing big, he sees Constance as an easy mark for a stake to restart his gambling. She falls for his story of love but comes to regret it. During a robbery Alston is killed and Cheyenne is arrested for it but he feels he can prove who did it - if he can get out of jail.

Pocketful of Stars

Cheyenne has been hired to scout a route through Shoshone territory based on his ability as a Cheyenne blood brother. He works with surveyor Ross Andrews, a younger and adventurous fellow. Cheyenne negotiates a pact with Chief Red Knife for a pass through their land with the promise the railroad will bypass their burial grounds and provide medicine and food. The railroad is happy with the agreement but their foreman Tom Fanshaw is not happy nor is freighter John Bishop who based on Fanshaw's advice invested his money with a syndicate in property the railroad is bypassing based on the route Cheyenne obtained from the Shoshone. Fanshaw tries to have Cheyenne killed but fails. His last attempt is based on forcing the Chinese girl Mei Ling Soong Cheyenne won in a rigged raffle to poison him. Cheyenne thought the raffle was for a Chinese pearl which turned out to be the girl. She refuses to leave his side as she adores Cheyenne.

The Vanishing Breed

Cheyenne is to meet Indian Agent Ab Carter and Johnny Crow at Johnny's camp. They are to discuss a trip by the two men to Washington D.C. to save the buffalo. While the two await Cheyenne, a buffalo herd is stampeded through the camp killing everyone but Ab and Johnny. The man behind the stampede, Walt Taylor, rides into the camp. Noticing Ab alive he shoots him as Johnny watches and then plays dead. Cheyenne rides up before the bodies can be buried. He finds Johnny alive and Ab shot. He takes Johnny to a doctor who says Johnny will survive but be crippled. He talks to Judge Kinkaid who introduces him to State Senator John Tom Matson. When Cheyenne asks Matson to help him continue Ab and Johnny's desire, Matson suggests Cheyenne take a vacant seat in the state senate due to a death. The naive Cheyenne accepts the offer in what becomes a western version of "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington". Cheyenne is better at gun fighting than politics.

Vengeance Is Mine

Cheyenne is the interim sheriff in Gunnison. He is surprised while getting a shave by Ray Masters, an old friend. Ray has been gone for five years spending the time in prison for another man on charges of selling liquor and guns to Indians. Ray was promised that his mother would receive $5,000 but instead she died of poverty. Rod Delaplane promised the money if Ray took his place. Ray plans to kill Rod for revenge. At the same time Rod is pressuring rancher John Hanson to sell his place and Hanson is in arrears on his taxes. Cheyenne tries to talk Ray out of his mission but Ray will have none of it. Cheyenne resorts to having the bartender drug Ray so he can jail him. Upon hearing the news from Cheyenne, Rod confronts his enforcer, Dan Gibson. Gibson swears he paid Ray's mother and produces a receipt signed by her but Ray denies it is her signature. When Hanson's barn burns, Ray sees a way to get his revenge and force Rod into a gunfight.

Johnny Brassbuttons

After a deputy is killed, a military escort led by Lt. Jackson but guided by Indian scout Johnny Brassbuttons is taking the widow and her companion to Globe to meet the stagecoach. They are forced by treaty to go around Apache land even though a pass through their land would cut a couple of days off the trip. The dust is bothering the companion. They meet Cheyenne who because of his blood brother heritage is allowed to take the pass. Apache leader Chato with a group of braves meets the escort. Upon seeing that Johnny's wife White Bird is with the group, he offers Jackson the use of the pass even though Johnny disagrees with the decision. Under threat of court-martial Johnny leads the group into the pass where they are attacked. Johnny is not killed but knocked out. Cheyenne finds him, buries the bodies and takes him to the fort where he is court-martialled. After escaping Cheyenne goes after evidence to clear him and is followed by two lawmen wanting revenge for the death of the widow.

Episode 12

Wanted for the Murder of Cheyenne Bodie

Cheyenne is riding along when he spots five men attacking a stagecoach. The driver and shotgun are killed followed by the men stopping the stage and attempting to remove a passenger, convict Pete Walton on his way to prison to hang the next morning. Cheyenne foils the attempt and sees the face of Lar Walton when his mask slips. He along with a passenger drive the stage on in along with the wounded Marshal Holland and female passenger Lenore Hanford who is really Lenore Walton. The next morning after Pete is hung, Lenore calls on Cheyenne offering him a job ramrodding her ranch with which she needs help. Initially he turns it down but when another job offer falls through he decides to visit her to accept the job. Lenore neglected to tell her brothers about her actions but they decide to have another gunman, Conlin, kill Cheyenne and then have him hung. When Conlin fails, they decide to say Conlin is Cheyenne and hang the real Cheyenne for killing himself.

Showdown at Oxbend

Cheyenne is driving into Oxbend when he spots a sheep shot in the leg near a sign saying sheep and sheep men are not welcome in Oxbend. When he arrives with the lone sheep in his wagon, he finds himself looking down a gun barrel and told to disarm. A visitor from the east, Darcy Clay, sends for Sheriff Ben Jethro who knows Cheyenne and vouches for him. Cheyenne is there to check on a ranch he is interested in buying to raise horses. After talking to Perly Wilkens who owns the ranch, he decides to pass on the deal because the price is too low. He realizes Perly is selling under stress. The threat of sheep coming into the basin has all the small ranchers scared and selling because of the folklore that sheep and cattle can't coexist. Cheyenne knows they can if the sheep are pastured after the cattle who leave plenty for the sheep. He looks into who is behind bringing in the sheep while temporarily accepting a deputy's badge. He uncovers the cause and who is taking advantage of it.
