Lifetime Renews Army Wives, Sets Diva Premiere, Orders Project Runway All Stars

In addition to renewing Army Wivesfor a sixth season and setting a June 19 return for Drop Dead Diva, Lifetime has announced Monday it had ordered an all-stars edition of Project Runway and several new series.

Project Runway All Stars, which has been picked up for eight episodes, will feature memorable past contestants who will once again compete to be the new champion. Lifetime has also ordered Project Accessory, a spin-off challenging enterprising artists to create new trends in the accessories business.

"We have made great strides over the last year shaping our programming strategy to partner with proven producers and talent on quality dramas, reality series and movies," President and GM of Lifetime Nancy Dubuc said. "This diverse slate, built upon great stories and characters, is the right mix of bold, confident and relevant programming viewers can expect from Lifetime."

This summer, the network will also premiere two scripted dramas, The Protector and Against the WallThe Protector centers on divorced mother Gloria Sheppard (Ally Walker of Sons of Anarchy), a LAPD homicide detective who attempts to juggle her personal and professional life with the help of her troubled younger brother, played by Chris Payne Gilbert. Tisha Campbell-Martin and Miguel Ferrer will also star.

Against the Wall stars Rachael Carpani (NCIS: Los Angeles) as a Chicago police detective who causes a rift in her blue-collar family of cops when she joins Internal Affairs. Treat Williams (Everwood) and Kathy Baker (Medium) will also star.

Lifetime has also ordered the drama pilot Modern Love, which follows newspaper science editor Simon McElvane, who's facing a deteriorating marriage. He unexpectedly has to take over the paper's Modern Love column, which will feature actual column stories from the New York Times.

Elsewhere, the network is planning to air 24 new original movies, including The Hunt for the I-5 Killer, starring John Corbett (United States of Tara) and Sara Canning (The Vampire Diaries), Nora Roberts' Carnal Innocence, Magic Beyond Words: The J.K. Rowling Story, an Elizabeth Taylor biopic, and Project Five, directed by Jennifer Aniston, Demi Moore, Alicia Keys and Patty Jenkins.

On the reality front, Lifetime ordered a slew of new series, including:

Vanished with Beth Holloway, launching May 9, is a series that delves into the true mysteries of families who have been plagued by unsolved abductions. The series debuts following the premiere of original movie Justice for Natalee Holloway.

Love Handles will feature the transformations of overweight couples.

Brighton Beach follows the lives of the men and women who live in the Brooklyn neighborhood that's populated by Russian-Americans, and the rich culture and heritage that comes with living there.

The Conversation, executive produced by Demi Moore, will capture in-depth celebrity interviews with some of the world's most famous women.

Dance Moms goes behind-the-scenes into the world of competitive dancing, and the overbearing mothers that push their daughters to the limit.

The Day that Changed My Life will showcase true stories of ordinary people whose lives took dramatic turns after tragic accidents.

Rosanne's Nuts, which will mark Roseanne Barr's return to television, follows the Emmy-winner as she attempts to manage a macadamia and live stock farm in Hawaii.

To Live & Buy follows Tracy Hutson and Tanya McQueen (Extreme Makeover: Home Edition) as they travel across America, restoring relics for their Los Angeles home décor store.

The Tracy Gold Project will see the Growing Painsstar using her personal experience to help people fighting their eating disorders.
