A hurricane hits Quahog! The Griffin family becomes increasingly bored, they try to pass the time on doing something interesting but they exclude Meg. Meanwhile, Brain shows Stewie his secret stash of mushrooms and he agrees to keep it a secret from the family. Brian ingests the mushrooms and he goes on a hallucinogenic trip, he soon cuts off his ear and Stewie must take care of Brian until the effects of the mushrooms wear off. Meg soon becomes sick of her parents and brother belittling her and she harshly chews them out for mistreating her all of those years, causing a remorseful Lois to break down into tears and she apologizes to Meg for how she has acted towards her. Peter, however, doesn't take Meg's criticism too lightly and he runs up to his room. Brian has finally recovered from his ordeal and he praises Meg for standing up for herself. Meg goes upstairs and she apologizes to her parents and brother for lashing out at them, they accept her apology and they decide to treat Meg more nicely.

Peter tries to reunite the dolphin with his ex-wife in hopes that he'll return to the ocean, but his plan backfires and the whole dolphin family moves into Cleveland's place.

Mort is in financial trouble and he is on the verge of losing his pharmacy ever since Muriel was killed by Diane Simmons. Peter and Quagmire try to help Mort improve his business but each of their ideas end horribly. Peter, Quagmire, and Mort decide to burn the pharmacy down so they can collect the insurance money by using an untraceable substance, they succeed in their plan to get the money. Unfortunately, Peter cannot keep a secret and he stupidly reveals the plot by recording his confession, Peter and his friends are soon arrested by Joe for insurance fraud. Peter, Mort, and Quagmire persuade Joe to release them because insurance companies always cheated them out of their needs. Joe finally gives in and he releases his friends after he reveals how the insurance company cheated him out of an expensive surgical procedure that would've given him the ability to walk again, Joe deletes Peter's confession on his phone.

Lois blames Peter for blindly supporting her father and for banning the government. Peter realizes that his anti-government views have escalated into chaos in the city, he and his family go to city hall. Peter encourages the townspeople to clean up the mess they caused and that they should band together to bring the government back.
