Episode 1
With the department back in action after the fire, the team are put to the test when a train crashes into a car full of joyriders on a level crossing causing a major incident.

Episode 2
A storm hits Holby causing challenges for the team. Karen comes across a car crash on her way to work; Ash is frosty towards Ken and Mark continues to push cutbacks on the department.

Episode 3
A sabotaged fairground ride after a family feud leads to a disastrous outcome; Karen oversteps the mark when a factory worker dies and Charlie and Ken's friendship blossoms.

Episode 4
A man is unhappy to hear he must sift through his son's poopies to recover the valuable coin the (somewhat amused) boy has swallowed; a recreational drug user is stabbed and robbed by his dealer; a married factory owner employing his mistress as a babysitter loses both his women following a lift accident. Increasingly stressed by personal and work issues, unpleasant receptionist Norma is suspended after calling admin newbie Mark of illegitimate birth and answering the phone in a cheeky manner.

Episode 5
There's a case of mistaken identity after fatal road accident; Ken learns of Duffy's jealousy and Norma decides it's time to leave Holby City.

Episode 6
A bedridden old man lives to regret asking his two daughters to help him take his own life. A friend of Ash's who's handy with his fists gets a job at a nightclub where he taps a punter tanked up on booze and drugs and who later dies of his injuries. Unpleasant former receptionist Norma's final visit to casualty is an unhappy one as she has her purse taken from her handbag by a small boy and then takes a tumble down Holby's infamous steps while in pursuit of him. Charlie is taken aback to learn that gay colleague and friend Ken would like to be his lover.

Episode 7
Future Casualty Doctor Elle Gardner (Series 33 to 37) actress Jaye Griffiths appears as the ruthless partner of timid businessman Jon who sustains life changing injuries in a parachute jump. Ken is fired and leaves under a cloud; greaseball admin man Mark persuades pretty Paramedic Jane to accept promotion.

Episode 8
A police officer receives a shock when investigating a burglary; Ash is mugged and the team find out they have a new manager.

Episode 9
Jealousy rears its head during a stock car race; a high stakes poker game is interrupted when a player has a coronary; Mark asks Jane out for dinner and Duffy and her husband make baby plans.

Episode 10
A prolific gambler on quiz machines has his luck run out; new locum consultant Tom Harley arrives and its student nurse Helen's last day.

Episode 11
Helen Baxendale stars as Emma, a young woman mixed up in a religious cult; a homeless woman tries her hardest to get a bed for the night and Duffy has some exciting news.

Episode 12
New nurse Mary Skillett gets off to a bad start annoying Duffy by being late; a small boy sustains a head injury but his mother doesn't want him taken to hospital; a meek teacher presents with many injuries he claims were administered by school bullies and a man who collapses in the street wearing just his pants and socks transpires to be a client at a massage parlour. Duffy vainly seeks an opportunity to tell Charlie her important news.

Episode 13
A mother and father deal with the tragedy of a cot death in different ways. An illegal immigrant and the sailor who shipped him are both admitted to casualty after they fight over an additional fee. The senior member of a group of travellers tries to conceal tuberculosis. Mike Barratt returns from Africa and Tom Harley and Duffy say goodbye - but one is to return.

Episode 14
A man with dementia is abandoned in casualty by his daughter; Josh is forced to perform emergency roadside surgery and Jane is asked to fax a press release about Holby's future.

Episode 15
A man dressed as an elf witnesses a house explosion; a young girl collapses with a heartbreaking diagnosis and Charlie almost becomes a patient himself.

Episode 16
Nurse Rachel Longworth joins the Holby team; Ash is promoted; Karen falls asleep on duty and a doting mother rushes her unwell child into Casualty but not all is as it first appears.

Episode 17
A young Rosie Marcel (Jac Naylor in Holby City) stars as one of a pair of graffiti artists trying to outdo one another; a ballroom dancer is involved in a hit and run and Mike has news for Charlie on Holby's future.

Episode 18
A lorry carrying toxic waste crashes causing a paperboy to help; Mark drops a bombshell on Jane and new SHO Dave Masters replaces Karen.

Episode 19
A stress management course proves too much for 2 men who end up in Casualty; Mary seeks Charlie's advice on keeping her job and Brian feels wasted as paramedic.

Episode 20
A Filipino woman arrives in Casualty where it transpired she's being tortured; a crazed young man with a knife is found to have stabbed a woman and rumours fly around the department about the possible closure.

Episode 21
An addict makes an accusation against Josh; a deaf woman is hit by a van and a man takes an overdose following the loss of his wife.

Episode 22
A horrific accident at a factory causes family tensions around an arranged marriage; a woman is admitted with severe facial burns and Ash and Mie turn up late for shift.

Episode 23
Paramedic Lucy and a gentleman are taken hostage by a military obsessionist and his wife who is supplementing their income by whoring from home. Charlie locks horns with Ash and reluctant manager Jane over staff shortages. A girl is injured in a dry ski slope disaster. Staff amuse themselves with a snail race organised by comedy porter Frankie.

Episode 24
It's Charlie's 40th birthday but he's not in a celebratory mood; a miracle occurs when a blind woman falls down the stairs and Mary spots something alarming with a man in a cubicle.
