Grace Clements, now bleeding from her nose admits she has an infectious illness which she can't name owing to 'national security'. She also tells Matty she should've made him wear a mask. Flynn is summoned and administers a massive ticking off to Matty. Iain and Jacob find the small boy and bring his father and him in. Dylan and Jodie treat a mature lesbian woman who's swallowed a ring and accompanied by her equally mature lover. Carrying out an oral examination of a woman triggers flashbacks of her recent traumatic experience for Siobhan. Panicking Matty convinces himself he will have contracted Ebola or something equally deadly from Grace due to not wearing a mask. Grace's ailment turns out not quite as serious as first thought - the bleeding is caused by taking interferon as a precautionary measure. Flynn decides to have a joke on Matty and delay giving him this information. When Dylan hears this he assaults Flynn. Faith tells Stevie she's pregnant. Teddy asks Jan to give his girlfriend Ashley a lift home as she is discharged. En route, they encounter the gob excrement hoax callers who run away when Ashley flashes her cop warrant card. She asks him for a reconciliation, but he confesses that he had a sexual encounter with a pretty young woman he met on a night out drowning his sorrows. Siobhan receives news that her rapist almost certainly used a condom and that no DNA evidence could be found. She also counsels the person from the car boot - the 13 year old sister of the driver who stowed away with the intention of gaining access to a rock festival. Teddy's inexperienced and keen cop girlfriend Ashley, unaccountably operating unaccompanied, fervently arrests Jacob's son Blake who loosely fits the description of the knuckle duster attacker. Blake is later released without charge, but Jacob is understandably furious at perceived racism. Dylan continually pulls Matty up for the tiniest of errors, and a confrontation leads him to shock Matty with the news that he is his father, and further has to admit he obtained DNA evidence without permission.

CQC inspector woman Ceri Maynard returns for another check - she's much earlier than expected and Flynn's just sent everyone home. Patients include a woman traffic warden who's been attacked by an angry driver. In a move which will have dire consequences, Kim and Matty agree to team up for the remainder of the shift. Siobhan gets news that a man has been arrested for her rape after being identified from an e-fit. The police woman in charge of the case tells Siobhan the suspect, Chris Banfield, is a former patient who was treated by Siobhan, and this is why his DNA was found on her uniform. Matty and Kim decide to carry out a lumbar puncture on a young woman patient: Matty operating while Kim reads instructions to him from a textbook. Kim's eyesight issue makes her misread the instructions and relay them to Matty who inserts the needle in the wrong place. This has catastrophic results for the patient, who is paralysed. Flynn dishes out a massive rollicking to the pair of them. Teddy's cop girlfriend Ashley apologises to Jacob for wrongfully arresting his son Blake - Jacob accepts - but won't withdraw complaint he lodged with the police. In a heavy chat at the local pub, Jacob argues he's blacker than Teddy because he's mixed race and was raised by a white family; Teddy argues he's still black. Dylan "persuades" Ceri to help out when the big diabetic patient needs emergency treatment. She predictably tells Flynn it's another fail; and reminds Dylan she's there to assess him - not for he to assess her. Flynn gathers the team and tells them the department is no longer open to major trauma at night. Flynn tells Siobhan he wants to jack the job in. She tells him he mustn't.

Siobhan demands that the police arrest him for harassment, but they point out he's not broken any laws. Rida passes it on that there will be redundancies if the department don't make improvements. Bryn Ellis, the man in an abusive gay relationship, is admitted bleeding from a head injury caused by his partner. Rash has an unusually flirtatious mature woman patient, Mrs Chopra, whom Rida thinks is a "random shopper" mystery patient sent by the authorities to assess the department's abilities and asks her to leave. Rash then has to correct her by pointing out that the woman has probably had a minor heart attack. Iain brings in the crush injury baby and Flynn leads treatment. The baby lives and is transferred to St.James. Bryn tells Faith he left his partner at home unconscious when he retaliated against his head injury. Jacob finds the man slumped on the floor - dead on arrival. Bryn is taken away by the cops. A desperate Siobhan trashes her office and later makes the unreasonable request of Flynn that he seeks out her rapist and causes him physical harm - "Will you do that?" Stevie then tells Kim of her ovarian cancer in an attempt to get her to reveal her problem. Kim asks Flynn to allocate her a different mentor. Cam's preoccupation with Siobhan's situation causes him to distance himself from Indie, who ends their relationship. At the local pub, Teddy and Ashley fail to see eye to eye on the false arrest issue and Ashley walks away. It becomes clear that Dr Johnson knows what Kim's medical condition is. Working with Matty, Kim goes into a panic and runs to a store room for sanctuary. Matty begins to understand when he sees the remains of cupcakes in the fridge. A man is admitted, unrecognisable due to facial injuries and bleeding - Siobhan is relieved it isn't Flynn - and it isn't Chris Banfield. Cam chances upon the photo of Banfield's with his address.
Episode 18
Casualty Car Crash 483 is a double decker bus (but they all count) whose route takes in a low bridge with obvious and disastrous consequences. Teddy and Indie are among the paramedics attending. Siobhan thanks Flynn for destroying the photo and address of rapist Banfield - Flynn tells her he did no such thing. Cam has not turned up for his shift - Jan in ambulance control takes a call from an old dear whose pet pussy cat has found an unconscious young man in her back yard. It is Cam. The face cream girl comes clean and admits to Siobhan she's used a friend's on-line purchased theoretical complexion enhancing injections. Kim is unable to find a vein to carry out an injection on her so asks Matty to step in. Jacob and Iain are sent to the house of the woman who has reported who we know to be Cam collapsed in her back yard, but are diverted to a higher priority case (the bus crash) before they find him. This provides Iain with the necessary time to finish his massive sandwich and also wolf down his creme egg. At the bus crash site, Iain attends upstairs passenger schoolgirl Chloe, whose arm is trapped. The girl is asking for her mum - but her father accompanying her tells Iain the woman in question is dead. At Holby, Matty treats the bus driver who has a septic stomach abscess caused from using Liracept, an internet obtained weight loss drug administered by injection. In their break, Matty offers Kim food which she rejects with an air of sadness. Matty then tells her he believes she has an eating disorder, and that it was she who ate all the cupcakes, and that her illness has side effects including impaired vision. Teddy and Indie find Cam who they bring in to E.D. where he's treated by the majority of the remaining regular cast. Cam has serious injuries and is taken to the operating theatre. A tearful Rida removes her hijab to show Rash her hair is coming out. Kim confides in and confesses to Matty that in the past she's been confined to a Specialist Eating Disorder Unit. She tells Matty if he shares this information with anyone, she will tell everybody it was he who reported the department to the CQC. The remorseful bus driver hands over his unused stash of Liracept. Unfortunately, it's Kim he hands it over to. As staff wait to hear how Cam is, Jan succeeds in adding a moment of humour when supplying hot chocolate. Flynn announces surgery went well and Cam will make a full recovery. Iain presents Faith with a load of food for when baby comes. She shocks him with a parental agreement to sign. Cam regains consciousness and confirms it was Chris Banfield who inflicted his injuries. The police arrive - Banfield has lodged a complaint of harassment against Cam. With clipboard firmly in hand, inspector woman Ceri Mayland does another check of the department. Flynn and Siobhan have both drafted letters of resignation taking full responsibility for any failings in the department. Patients include a woman, a man, their child and the driver of the car that hit them as well as two prison inmates. Doctor Kim Chang's bulimic like condition worsens when she vomits blood laced with hundreds and thousands from a cupcake she consumed earlier. Kim redeems herself magnificently by making a diagnosis and carrying out the treatment in defiance of mentor Stevie Nash. Although this saves the patient's life, Kim quits the job but does agree to get treatment for her medical condition. Back at Holby Prison, it's fourteen hundred hours and Siobhan has a set of fantasies where she meets and confronts her rapist, but in the end, walks away considering herself satisfied.
