Charlie's return from holiday in positive mood receives several knocks thanks to a teenager dying of an overdose, two brothers with a secret, an old neighbour with Crohn's disease and David getting overinvolved with an attempted murderer.
Episode 2
David has to deal with a visit from Rosalene, a journalist and a former nurse with a burned eye. Teddy gets involved with two brothers who were in a car crash. Dylan asks Marcus for help with dwindling resources.
Episode 3
Teddy tries to help a teenager trapped in a mineshaft, Iain and Faith disagree over how to deal with a drunk single mother, Stevie treats cat-related injuries and Robyn is bombarded with opinions on the surrogacy.
Episode 4
Dylan is shaken by an injury to a friend, Stevie gets involved with two teenaged runaways and Robyn helps a man with learning difficulties missing his old carer.
Episode 5
The department is full of opposing football fans, leaving Stevie trying to protect a father and daughter and save a police officer who was stabbed. David's resolve is threatened when Rob's mum is brought in.

Stevie gets insight into Marcus when his ex-girlfriend is admitted to a mental ward, Max and Faith help a teenage girl having a series of accidents and Rash is determined to get Ashok into a home after treating a worn-out social worker.

Ashok stabs a carer, giving Dylan another piece of evidence. Stevie befriends a cyber security expert while making a complaint against Marcus. Jacob tries to find out why a patient's notes don't match.

Max and Jodie treat sisters suspected of people smuggling as rumours spread about them. Jacob is uncomfortable collecting a patient from where Billie works and Jan is disconcerted while helping an elderly terminally ill woman.

Knowledge of Gethin's suicide plan leaves Jan determined to deliver a donor heart involved in a motorway crash. Jodie learns of her mistake with Freya Hall but is distracted by a stabbing patient. Faith comforts a patient's partner.

Faith is left with explaining to do after rushing one of Luka's friends in with a suspected overdose, Stevie and Ryan try to help an overworked ballerina and a meeting with a troubled teenager causes Jacob to have a think about Billie.

Jodie is offered a farewell do after saving a boy's life, which sees several staff caught up in an explosion. Iain's pondering over Faith is interrupted when a schoolgirl he treats turns out to be racist. Cam tries to prove his worth.

With commentary by real-life NHS workers, the whole team work to save an injured motorcyclist. Stevie has to break bad news to some parents and Ryan treats an elderly birthday girl.

Donna is left exhausted after a shift helping a non-English speaker whose wife dies. Faith dodges questions from Iain while treating a teenager with a secret. Jan reconnects with Ffion after one of her colleagues has an accident.

Donna lies about the accident when the other party try to make a bogus insurance claim. Jan has differing experiences with a self-harmer and a gang of youths. An old man with a dog gives Ryan a way to build bridges with Cameron.

Max and Jodie have concerns about a mother and son involved in a car accident, Paige enlists Teddy's help to reunite a dying patient with her dog and Jan has a mixed encounter with the daughter of an old patient.

Stevie deals with a casualty from an acid attack. Faith uses an elderly patient to get round Max's new counter-signing drug system. Donna finds Ashley in a poor state with a self-inflicted injury. Iain and Jacob have trouble with addicts.

Donna's guilt over Ashley increases while treating a teenage overdose victim. Jan and Ffion help a neighbour give birth. Rida witnesses Rash flirting with a patient. Faith has to keep up the cancer lie with Stevie.
