All staff are sent to the ED (Emergency Department) when 3 victims of a shooting arrive. Then there are reports that Holby College is under fire from the same gunman. The staff are scrambled to help the incoming victims from the College. Full length feature episode.
Episode 2
The ED gets bad press over their handling of the shooting. A young boy fails at an attempt to blow up his racist grandfather with a grenade. He tries again in the ED with a second grenade. The pin is pulled and the grandfather quickly holds his hands over the grenade. The bomb squad arrives.
Episode 3
Ruth Winters (Georgia Taylor) is concerned about the lack of intimacy from her new husband Michael. Nick Jordan orders 2 hour turnaround time in the ED. A dozen students from the same school are admitted for a LSD overdose.
Episode 4
The new and improved unit opens. Ruth cannot figure out why Michael is avoiding her at home.
Episode 5
Lenny has misdiagnosed a patient. More bad publicity for the ED. The hygiene inspection starts. An insider is exposed as the mole.
Episode 6
When the newspaper tells a story of a badly run ED (Emergency Department), Jordan sets out to change public opinion.

The whole story of the shooting at Holby College is told through the memories of the shooter and the victims.

Episode 8
Charlie has a bad day when baby Megan is abandoned to him. Ruth is shocked by why Michael is distant, and finds out that Charlie also knows. Employee of the week is causing so much confusion in the ED as the staff are competing for Ruth's attention. Kirsty is becoming increasing stressed by her husband's abuse.

Episode 9
Kirsty is exhausted by her husband's constant need for attention and takes pills to help her get through her shift. The inspection is coming in 2 weeks and Jordan is trying hard to get his staff in line.
Episode 10
The inspector arrives. Jay's grandmother is admitted, unfortunately, Jay has told her he is a doctor. Jordan is forced to do surgery in the ED even though he is not supposed to. He threatens to resign if it will help the ED to stay open.

Episode 11
Ruth is still reeling from finding out what is wrong with Michael and she finds out Charlie knows too. She sets out to keep Charlie quiet. Kirsty is at the breaking point when Warren hides her car keys. A gamer collapses at a tournament.

Episode 12
The staff try to get Charlie reinstated. Lenny's long lost sister contacts him. She needs a donor for a bone marrow transplant.
Episode 13
Kirsty's husband and daughter are admitted to the ED after a car crash.
Episode 14
Jeff returns to work. Ruth gives the staff the results of the time and motion study. Lenny's sister meets his colleagues.
Episode 15
Jeff comes to the rescue when Joe is being harassed by a gang of teenagers. Lenny is not a match for his sister's transplant and avoids telling her.

Episode 16
Lenny and Yuki secretly test new patients for a bone marrow match. Yuki gets a transfer and forces Lenny to tell his sister the truth. Nick Jordan returns to the unit.

Episode 17
Big Mac (Charles Dale) gets a Christmas tree. James overdoses a patient. Mads and Noel throw a party for the patients. Edward and James tell Ruth they are a couple now in front of the staff.

Episode 18
Nick Jordan drives without a license and gets in a collision. The police want to blame him for the accident, but later find out it was a stalker who was following a woman's car. Kirsty has more noticeable injuries on her. Ruth misplaces her book and blames the staff for stealing it.

Episode 19
Nick Jordan is kidnapped by someone who was in the car crash. Kirsty gets an exam for her injuries. Warren confronts Adam about Kirsty's whereabouts. When Kirsty finds out Warren was looking for her, she rushes home only to be greeted by a very volatile Warren.

Episode 20
Ruth is covered in bruises the day after going to a club. She has no memory of what happened until an injured man is admitted to the ED triggers a memory of the night before.
Episode 21
A mentally challenged girl comes into the ED. Ruth tries to help, but it is not her case. She gets obsessed with the girl and takes her to a private room to treat her. Everyone is searching for her. They find them and the police are called. Ruth is taken away.

Episode 22
A 14 year old mentally challenged girl accuses her teacher of inappropriate behavior. Kirsty plans on running away from Warren after a beating. She calls Adam for help, but when he arrives, it may be too late.

Episode 24
A Royal princess is admitted with serious injuries. Henrik Hanssen (Guy Henry) and Nick Jordan (Michael French) Argue about the best way to treat her. Who will save her life and get the glory? Jay is stressed over who to visit, his grandmother or Ruth . His choice has consequences.
Episode 25
Warren is in a coma. Jordan gloats over his gift, and Henrik takes revenge on him. Jordan recklessly splashes a woman at a bus stop who ends up making his day a misery. A woman is bleeding out and won't allow a transfusion for religious reasons. Jordan and Turner disagree on this. Jay has a health concern.

Episode 26
Kirsty asks Adam to lie to the police for her. A victim attacks his mugger and they both end up in the ED. When Jay discovers that the mugger is in Lenny's care, he goes after him. The victim has something to hide and won't press charges. Jay misses his doctor's appointment. Miriam Turner examines Jay and accompanies him to a specialist.
Episode 27
Nita runs away and puts herself in danger. The police question Kirsty about Warren and Nita. Big Mac and Noel tease Jay about Miriam. A man severs his fingers in an explosion.
Episode 28
The new doctor is involved in a bus crash. A boy who rescued the bus driver thinks he has super powers. Jay's grandmother continues to show up at his work. Miriam and Jay get the news they are waiting for. Ruth escapes.

Episode 29
Jay is scheduled for surgery. A young girl walks into the ED and starts to convulse. Her drug dealer boyfriend shows up tries to take her home and she collapses in the parking lot. Jay may miss his surgery because of this. Mads agrees to a date with Lenny. Miriam breaks patient confidentiality.

Episode 30
Hannah Fleet returns to the ED for treatment. Dylan rubs the staff the wrong way. A colleague of Ruth's takes her out for lunch. Charlie tells Ruth she may be bipolar. Dylan confronts a lawyer who is passing out his business cards in the waiting room.

Episode 31
Jay is back. His grandmother's care home has serious problems. Mads leaves for Pakistan for her brother's wedding. Polly wants to leave her job.
Episode 32
Jay finds out his results and pays a visit to Ruth, but can't tell her why he has not visited. An underage girl gets drugged in a bar. A man comes in with a rare hormone imbalance. Jordan and Miriam are competing to win Clinical Head. The staff decide who gets the job.

Episode 33
Katie climbs a tower and won't come down until she can tell Kirsty what really happened to Warren. Hannah becomes unhinged and chases Dylan for help with her self-inflicted wounds. He rebuffs her and she reaches for a knife. Part 1 of 2.
Episode 34
Part 2 Miriam thinks Hannah need a psych evaluation. A boy comes in with a fractured skull caused by the police. No one can find Poppy. Big Mac puts a large bet on the horses. Henrik gives Miriam the results of the Head job.

Episode 35
A pick pocket gets chased down, falls, and breaks the cast on her leg. Lenny and Jay cut the cast off to find her foot is infected and the cast should have been taken off months ago. She is using a missing girl's identity. Miriam's step-grandson comes looking for her. There is a floral memorial for Polly in front of the hospital. Miriam forfeits the job to Jordan.

Episode 36
Ruth starts back at the ED. Mads comes back from Pakistan with an engagement ring. Lenny is not happy about it. A boy comes in with stomach pains, and a woman gets hit by a motorcycle. Mads drinks with the staff at the pub and goes off alone in a taxi.
Episode 37
Tess is still upset over the death of the boy and starts drinking. An infant is left home alone and the social worker breaks in. The teen aged father grabs the baby and goes to meet the baby's mother at the train. Henry tries to make Tess the scapegoat for the death of Daniel. A young man finds out about Polly and grieves with Jeff. Charlie comes back to work.
Episode 38
The taxi driver who attacked Mads ends up in the ED with stab wounds in his face. A boy is forced to throw bricks at passing trucks on the highway, causing the death of a driver. Everyone is shocked (especially his wife) to find out he had a human cargo of 13 people in the back. Linda Andrews starts work in the unit today. Adam lies to the widow to get his organs for transplant.
Episode 39
Zoe seeks out Dylan to come back to work. A boy is brought in with flash burns from an explosion, but he is far worse than they thought. Simon, the new locum, and Linda have a history and can't get along.
Episode 40
Part 1. Adam has a difference of opinion with Dr. Klein. Adam sends an elderly patient home where he dies. Jeff tries to pick up with Karl where Polly left off. He finds out that Karl is the cousin of the Holby College shooter and has the same intentions.

Episode 41
Part 2. Jeff finds Carl at the college, returning the cell phones he stole the night before the shooting. Ruth is reinstated, but does not have the confidence to do her job.

Episode 42
A rapist gets attacked and thrown through a window by the father of the girl. They both end up in the ED. The father attempts to kill him again. Adam stops him. The ED is overcrowded and Linda can't take the pressure. A patient writes a blog about how inept the ED is.
Episode 43
A man with cancer has a car accident, and has a DNR order in place. Adam decides to recussitate him against his wishes. Dylan is bored with the common complaints and asks only to be called if someone has an unusual ailment. Adam continues to spiral out of control.

Episode 44
A pharmacist gets attacked by thugs. Mads gets accosted by her attacker outside her apartment. Dylan lets an underage girl sleep in his houseboat and finds her unconscious in the morning. Mads confides in Lenny about her attacker and he takes her to the police.
Episode 45
Kirsty ends up managing to come to terms with her history of physical abuse. Ruth returns to work. Adam continues to be very overbearing at work.

Episode 46
Jordan investigates Adams' notes because of his past errors in judgement. Kirsty makes a life changing decision and leaves the hospital.
Episode 47
An explosion at Holby Airport. Mads finds her injured attacker in the rubble and punches him in the chest. A witness to this, reports it to the news channel and it goes viral that a nurse punched an unconscious victim. When he gets to the hospital, Lenny refuses to help him despite orders from Jordan and Adam. He finally blurts out in the ED that that man tried to rape Mads. When Mads is questioned by Linda, we find out that the "punch" was actually a heart starting thump and she saved his life. He was at the airport to jump bail for his attack on Mads using his brother's passport. He is arrested and his wife leaves him.
