Episode 1
As a new batch of medics are trained, a massive fire breaks out at a derelict shopping centre inhabited by vagrants and drug addicts.
Episode 2
As Adam and trainee Heather treat a victim at the shopping centre, the staff at ED deal with the other casualties including centre owner Tweedle who set the fire as an insurance fraud.
Episode 3
Following the death of Heather in the shopping centre arson, Yuki, May & Lenny are receiving counselling from resident shrink Ben Harding who allocates them characters from The Wizard Of Oz: May is The Scarecrow; Yuki is The Cowardly Lion and Lenny is The Tin Man. Casualty Car Crash Street sees action again for the 239th car crash of the series, caused by a taking without owner's consent resulting in a decapation. Accompanying Jeff and Polly on the ambulance, apprentice doctor Yuki finds the head. Lenny understudies Zoe while May is reluctantly allocated to Ruth. Adam is now Clinical Lead and currently loved up with Jessica - likewise Ruth and Jay - likewise Ben and Toby.
Episode 4
While Nick is fixing to die at the seaside, Zoe is planning to keep him alive. This means her walking out of theatre during operations; commuting between Holby and Clevedon; lying to colleagues that it's her mother who's ill; flirting up a conveniently on hand professor of brain surgery and forging Nick's signature on the consent to operate form. Frances Lively is sure Zoe is lying, but Anamaria, whom Nick has befriended, says she witnessed his signature. To the accompaniment of "Times Like These" by Foo Fighters, the surgeon operates on Nick's brain. The operation seems to go well but when Nick awakes his plea is 'kill me'.
Episode 5
Nick is recovering from his brain operation. 2 staff make fun of a traffic warden patient. Casualty Car Crash 240 occurs when a woman drives into a greenhouse. Cigarette girl Zoe treats an Elvis impersonator who can't give up.
Episode 6
Ruth finds she is pregnant. A patient takes a shine to Polly. A baby sustains a head injury when his mum drops him. A man is trapped under falling masonry while committing a robbery. Nick is discharged but declines Zoe's invitation.
Episode 7
Two bad tempered brothers have a squash game which is followed by one of them causing Casualty Car Crash 241 when he collides with a wall. A woman pedestrian is also very seriously injured, and her treatment brings out the brilliance of Ruth. The woman is a single mother and accompanied by her rather distraught father. Polly receives a love poem from unwanted vagrant admirer Alistair - this is not the last we are to see of him. Nick is recuperating at home and has Anamaria whom he met at the seaside as char woman/bodyguard who refuses to let Zoe in, but Charlie crashes the pad bringing with him a large takeaway meal. Jeff is delighted to be partnered on the ambulance with a very pretty young woman - but this is the first and last we see of her. Boss woman Surgical Sarah tells Ruth to dump Jay if she wants promotion.
Episode 8
Zoe discovers that her latest young lover is considerably younger than he led her to believe. When she tries to end the relationship he steals her firestick. An awkward old woman tries to prevent Dixie & Polly taking her seriously ill husband to hospital. Other patients include a small boy who has not had the MMR vaccination and a man who claims to see elves. Following her abortion and haemorrhage, Ruth is recovering in hospital and still trying to end her relationship with Jay.
Episode 9
Admin man Henry tells Zoe if she doesn't get the memory stick back he will sack her. She offers her young lover Joel cash for its return but he wants a resumption of nookie. Zoe then accepts the help of Nick who locates Joel on a school trip to the zoo, pretends to be a plain clothes cop to gain possession of the memory stick but this results in an attempted swallowing, an unsuccessful Heimlich Manoeuvre and a visit to E.D. Yuki gets a right old telling off when he announces to a packed operating theatre that a patient is HIV positive - this being news to his girlfriend who is expecting his baby. Adam tells a beggar to vacate the department, but the man transpires to be the new Chaplain. Zoe retrieves the delicate information and keeps her job. Polly gets home to find someone waiting.
Episode 10
At a pub jam packed with punters including a woman determined to get a man, a discarded cigarette ignites a box of fireworks. Tess and disheveled new E.D. priest Trevor get chatting. Polly confronts obsessed Alistair in his lair where he confesses to wounding Jeff and tells Polly she'll be sorry she doesn't love him.
Episode 11
Ruth is a wedding guest when former patient Amir collapses. When he dies in theatre, his son abducts the corpse. A man has an accident with a fish tank. Some yobs attack a vagrant. Polly receives news that Alistair has taken his own life.
Episode 12
Charlie finds son Louis having sex with a girl named Shona. A hookers' lair catches fire. The three newbies anxiously await the outcome of Amir's post mortem. Boss surgeon Sarah releases Ruth from her contract for lying.
Episode 13
Top Dog The Dean debuts - who's his baby? A bank manager helps in its robbery - the getaway brings Casualty Car Crash 242. Sean returns. Nick wants to get back to doctoring but Adam says no. Polly relives Alistair's death.
Episode 14
A gullible security man obsessed with Ruth gets injured pursuing a group of vagrants. Patients include Ruth's ex-con junkie brother and a canteen woman with a leg injury operated on by Sean.
Episode 15
Nick is gagging to get back to hands on medical stuff, isn't allowed but does so anyway. Casualty Car Crash 243 involves the sabotage of a works coach party resulting in a partial reenactment of The Italian Job (1969). Zoe gives painfully shy Yuki the task of asking May with whom he is besotted out on a date. Jessica and her two male escorts go to a school nativity play. An amnesiac drinking man is told he was responsible for the death of his infant daughter.
Episode 16
May believes a patient died and Lenny informs the relatives. When the truth comes out Adam fires Lenny but May owns up and he is reinstated. May then needs help from top dog dad to save her career.
Episode 17
Sean thinks ex wife Jessica still loves him. May is upset when her family credentials are revealed. Casualty Car Crash 244 results in many serious injuries. Noel's dad is among the other patients.
Episode 18

Adam & Jessica's wedding day doesn't go as planned due to interaction with a tragic family. Casualty Car Crashes 245&6 involve the Honeymoon couple, their children and a woman with a secret.
Episode 20
Jessica is in a comatose state but recovering. Adam makes frequent visits while top dog surgeon Sarah keeps an eye her progress. An old friend of Lenny's from the time they spent together at a home when children visits him with a tape recording of a promise they made to one day return and burn the place down. The friend puts the plan into practice with disastrous consequences. Big Mac organises a football team comprising Noel, Charlie and his son Louis, Lenny, Jay and Yuki. A patient with Parkinson's disease also requests to join the team in a bid to escape the fussing of his over protective daughter. Paramedic Polly attends a disciplinary hearing regarding the death of Alistair which is made worse by her being hounded by his former social worker Abe who holds her responsible. The staff record 'get well soon' messages for Jessica, taping over the recording of Lenny and his friend's arson promise.

Yuki awakes from a night on a roundabout (as in traffic island). A young shoplifter falls from a bridge but is caught by a man claiming to be disabled. Ruth and May have a massive argument. Polly withdraws her notice. The men play football

Top admin doc Sarah is taken seriously ill; Adam and Jessica bury baby Harry.
Episode 24
Unable to bear the pain of the loss of their baby, Jessica leaves Adam; is Charlie's son going to face up to his responsibility to his pregnant girlfriend?
Episode 25
Dixie's dying Dad's bucket list includes seeing her place of work, where he also meets her "fiancé" Jeff, never having told her father she's a lesbian. Adam is supposed to be on compassionate leave but comes to work anyway and is a tad blunt with a little madam patient whose tattoo has gone septic. Nick tells him he's to have counselling from resident shrink Ben. Big Mac drops Charlie from the football team in favour of a tried and tested substitute. A private eye takes a tumble down some steps while running away from an adulterous young woman he has been photographing. A tumble with her is the price of his silence. Charlie is called to his house which is the scene of a break in and burglary by his son Louie's pregnant junkie girlfriend Shona. When Big Mac's football substitute cries off, Adam steps in and vents his accumulated wrath on an opposition player which results in the team being barred. Charlie goes in search of Shona and finds her in a graveyard Brahms and Liszt out of her skull on vodka. Casualty Car Crash 247 occurs when Charlie collapses at the wheel.
Episode 26
Dixie continues to hound Jeff into a face value only marriage to make her father happy - Jeff tells her to tell her him she's gay. Casualty Car Crash 248 involves go kart racers in an unusual love triangle. Zoe, drunk again, sends Nick many answerphone messages, is discovered by him searching for something in his office and later steals his keys to gain access to his flat where he again discovers her. Two new faces, Kieron Fletcher and Matt Strong, appear - the former takes a great interest in Nick, the latter in Zoe. A poorly Charlie comes in for a chat with Tess. A very pent up Adam receives a gift he can't quite get his head around from Alice and has his first counselling session with resident shrink Ben which allows him to exorcise more anger by punching him on the nose. Zoe and Lenny treat a woman with many identities and the paraphernalia to prove them.
Episode 27
Adam dives into a lake to rescue a drowning man when a leisure cruiser capsizes as a result of sabotage by its owner. Other survivors include a man and his diabetic daughter who refuse medication which has been tested on animals and a man with an abscess caused by use of steroids. Jeff sustains a knock on the head and is checked for cranial damage then gives in to Dixie's marriage idea. New doc Kieron gives the diabetic girl animal tested insulin to stop her going into a coma. To the accompaniment of "Song To The Siren" by The Cocteau Twins, Adam drives his new car into a brick wall, racking up Casualty Car Crash 249. Zoe grabs new doc Matt for a snog.
Episode 28
Zoe is given the job of assessing the new doctors; Kieron tells Nick he is his son.
Episode 29
A man breaks into a house and a knife fight between two men ensues - but the wife of the home owner is a third admission to casualty. Having been accused by Kieron of being his dad, Nick browses through some old photos and then tells Kieron he's not his dad and to never mention it again. Yuki, having discovered May's dad, The Dean, gave her the answers to the exam questions, believes he's on course to become her boyfriend and lover. She, however, uses her feminine skills to keep him panting but at bay. Staff prepare for Dixie's hen and Jeff's stag parties. Dodgy medical man Howard Fairfax recommends his special trial formula be used on the housebreaker who promptly dies.
Episode 30
It's the morning after and Adam is ungrateful to Alice for his night of sex; May's first night of love with Shakespeare quoting Yuki is not what she expected; Dixie is revealed as a dyke when her Dad catches her snogging her latest conquest - the marriage registrar. When May seriously injures a patient, Yuki offers himself up as a sacrifice and May happily throws him to the wolves.
Episode 31
Howard finds the notes that would clear Jay of blame for the death of a patient but convinces Ruth that they should stay lost. Yuki offers to run away with May but she leaves him standing at the railway station.
Episode 32
Zoe receives an unwelcome proposal from her latest lay, Matt. She has to resort to maximum fobbing off power. Convinced he has evidence his mother knew Nick Jordan, distraught Kieron provides Casualty Car Crash 250 by pranging his motorbike during an ego/grudge race with Lenny. His injuries are not too serious and is able to provide vital information to Lenny and Nick regarding his treatment. A schoolgirl and her boyfriend experience a burst condom situation. Adam treats a small boy who has taken poison and needs a haircut and later pulls the boy's attractive, busty mum. There are complaints about a smell coming from Yuki's locker so May clears it out.
Episode 33
DNA result says Nick is not Kieron's dad.
Episode 34
Adam is held at gunpoint by his latest woman's psycho Ex husband.
Episode 35
Adam goes to the bus station to say goodbye to Alice but says hello to Jessica.
Episode 36
Yuki is found in a skip and makes a hero's return. The ED is locked down due to an anthrax hoax. Jessica says goodbye. May comes clean and says goodbye.
Episode 37
Kirsty subdues a violent patient. Having rejected Matt's proposal of marriage, Zoe returns to Nick for casual sex.
Episode 38
Nick having suggested they might start a family, Zoe sees a specialist about having kids - she's told the odds are against it and she seems relieved about that. A thief and pigeon fancier is injured while attempting his getaway by stowing away above a faulty lift. His wife has stomach cancer and weeks to live. Keen Kirsty helps him return the cash. Lenny takes full advantage of Yuki's loss of impetus and makes a diagnosis which impresses Nick. Pigeons predictably mean psittacosis - is that what the pigeon fancying thief has?

Episode 39
Squalid squat dwelling Shona asks Charlie for an abortion even though she's too far gone. A Scouse scally steals a loan shark's repo man's van. Male staff fuss round a pretty Eastern European hooker patient.
Episode 40
Charlie regrets getting Shona a job on reception.
Episode 41
Casualty Car Crash 252 occurs when the car driven by the screw escorting a horrible serial killer from the local prison is hit by a lorry. The horrible serial killer has obtained warfarin (or equivalent) from a bent screw on the eve of retirement and stabbed himself with a sharpened toothbrush. The horrible serial killer then re-enacts Silence Of The Lambs using Adam, who is treating him, in the Jodie Foster role. Idiots Jay and Noel convince gullible prat Big Mac that the curse laid upon him by the grotty Goth girl in yesterday's episode is real and the only way to save himself is to draw a chalk circle around the hospital.
Episode 42
Zoe is desperate to get pregnant - unfortunately, Nick is not aware of this. Jay, who has been on a drug trial program which has resulted in several deaths, is given the all clear as he was given the placebo. Ruth gets married - unfortunately for Jay it's to someone else.

Yuki and Lenny break into Ludlow's house to get evidence which will incriminate him in the drugs trial, but in the process a clumsy security guard and her dog are injured.
Episode 45
The horrible psycho from episode 41 makes his escape aided by a naive pen pal; kills her and takes refuge at Adam's house.
Episode 46
Terminally ill Megan returns and wants help ending her life; Ludlow offers Lenny a job in return for the incriminating evidence.
Episode 47
Charlie and Tess help Megan end her life.
Episode 48
Two incompetent criminals bring down a high voltage power line resulting in a death, numerous injuries and ED being plunged into darkness. At the JAFA presentation, Ludlow's daughter has information for Lenny. Yuki discovers Lenny has taken the incriminating disc and thumps him.
