Having achieved what their parents always hoped they could—successful careers, four wonderful kids, and a beautiful home in a nice neighborhood—advertising executive Andre "Dre" Johnson (Anthony Anderson) and his physician wife, Rainbow (Tracee Ellis Ross), continue their commitment to create a sense of cultural identity for their family that honors their Black heritage while also embracing their upper-middle-class success. In Season 2, the family confronts timely issues such as the use of the N-word, gun control, and bullying with compassion, insight, and humor.
