In this sitcom, Andre "Dre" Johnson (Anthony Anderson), a successful family man, worries that his four children are losing touch with urban, black culture because of their affluent upbringing. As a result, Season 1 sees Dre trying to teach his children about various aspects of black culture, but he enouncters several bumps in the road. Along the way, Dre and his wife Rainbow (Tracee Ellis Ross) face usual parental nightmares, such as their peculiar in-laws and their teenage children's dating habits. Lawrence Fishburne stars as Earl "Pops" Johnson, Dre's Father, while Raven-Symoné, Jenifer Lewis and Deon Cole hold recurring roles.
