Well, the second-to-last episode (airing May 3) gives a surprising reveal about what happened the night Veronica was roofied and raped. The episode features scenes from the pilot that were not used in the final cut, and includes all of the high-school characters who have made appearances throughout the season. Question: Got any new scoop on The O.C.? — Danielle Ausiello: The April 28, Spring Break-themed episode was shot on location in Miami Beach and marks the return of Linda Lavin as Nana. It also features a cameo by TV Guide's own Rochell Thomas. A diary of her O.C. experience will run in an upcoming issue of TV Guide magazine. (Gee, I wonder where she got that idea from?)
Question: Will Rose be back on Lost? She hasn't made an appearance in a long time. What's the deal? — Nicole Ausiello: The deal, according to J.J. Abrams, is that the actress behind the castaway, L. Scott Caldwell, landed a play and has been unavailable. However, J.J. says viewers "will definitely see Rose again." He also described the show's 90-minute season finale as "mind-blowing. It's got a wonderful bookend quality to the season. In addition to answering a number of questions, it also raises some infinitely bigger ones." Abrams also confirmed that Claire will go into labor in the April 6 episode, contradicting an earlier Ask Ausiello spoiler that said her big day would come in the finale. In my defense, the oddly-shaped mole who fed me said spoiler was cut off weeks ago and replaced with a far less suspicious one.

When I asked Janollari if he had given any further thought to the Spike telepic I pitched him at press tour in January, he said, "I have given it more thought since you brought it up. It's certainly something that I continue to get many fan letters and e-mails about, and it's something that we discuss a lot around here. But no decision has been made." Well, literally 15 minutes after I hung up with Janollari, Whedon called to weigh in on a William the Bloody revival. "I'm really for it, but I have never really spoken to David Janollari," he said. Question: Got any news on the fate of American Dreams? — Brianna Ausiello: I asked Jonathan Prince for an update via e-mail, and here was his reply: "NBC needs quality programming that speaks to the advertisers and the affluent, educated viewers. And that's us. Keep the faith. Spread the word." In the meantime, Prince has reluctantly braced himself for possible cancellation. "If we are told before the final episode of the season airs that this is indeed going to be the final episode [ever], we're prepared," he confides. "I have shot an 'ending' to the series that I hope never airs." Or, at least, that he hopes won't air until well beyond Season 4. "I hope that in showing this 'epilogue' to the network," Prince says, "it will whet their appetite to spend the next few years to get to this promised ending."

Regarding Carniv&#224le, an HBO rep says no decision has been made about a third season, but I'm encouraged by the cabler's recent decision to renew The Wire.
Question: Any Lost info, spoilers, scoop... anything!!! — Jake Ausiello: In next week's episode (spoiler alert!) — titled "Deus ex Machina" — Locke begins to suffer physical problems as he and Boone try to find a way into that mysterious hatch. Meanwhile, Jack is reluctant to help when Sawyer starts to experience excruciating headaches, and Michael and Jin struggle to communicate while working together on the raft. The following week, the big news, aside from Claire going into labor, is that Locke vanishes without a trace.
