"The Wire" creator David Simon's love letter to New Orleans in the years following Hurricane Katrina concludes with a five-episode fourth season, which opens with the city's optimism after the election of Barack Obama as president in November 2008, but Texas-born Nelson (Jon Seda) finds it hard to be in the Big Easy when the economy starts to go south. Meanwhile, Janette (Kim Dickens) prepares to open a new restaurant; Antoine (Wendell Pierce) finds himself being more than just a music teacher; Annie (Lucia Micarelli) clashes with her manager over the direction of her music; Davis (Steve Zahn) is blown away by a new sound; L.P. (Chris Coy) returns for more investigative work; Terry (David Morse) keeps burning bridges in the police department; and LaDonna (Khandi Alexander) gets busy rebuilding Gigi's, but finds time to comfort Albert (Clarke Peters), who asks his son, Delmond (Rob Brown), to carry on a sacred family tradition. Guest stars include Dan Ziskie and Michael Cerveris.
