Question: Recently, Amy Sherman-Palladino gathered some of the cast to film a goodbye dance to the much-beloved ABC Family series Bunheads. I admit it, watching it made me a little misty. I wish more creators respected their fans and casts enough to provide such closure. Do you think such series codas will, or should, become more common? Also, do you think they are a good or bad thing for fans and show runners? Meaning: Does it just prolong the fans' agony of letting a favorite show go by keeping them hoping for one more taste and, on the creative side, label creators as undesirable to work with if they're unable to let their failed ideas go, potentially preventing them from getting future projects produced because no one just wants a copy of something that didn't work elsewhere?

Send questions to askmatt@tvguidemagazine.com and follow me on Twitter!Question: I know you weren't too fond of the final season of Entourage (to put it nicely), but I was curious if you thought Jeremy Piven's work this year was worthy of an Emmy nomination? — JoeMatt Roush: Sure. I wouldn't mind seeing him get one last nomination. He used to own that supporting comedy actor category, winning three in a row before he dropped off the radar (along with the show), part of the backlash ...

[WARNING: The following story contains major spoilers from the season finale of Torchwood: Miracle Day. Read at your own risk.] A hole in the world is the villain? The Blessing tells Jilly she's "right"? Rex is immortal? So many burning questions linger after Friday's finale of Torchwood: Miracle Day, the end to an ambitious 10-episode season that had big things to say about politics, the media and, of course, mortality itself. TVGuide.com spoke with Jane Espenson -- who wrote or co-wrote half of the season's episodes for series executive producer Russell T. Davies — about Jilly's curious revelation, the distinct lack of Torchwood's usual otherworldly baddies and why Captain Jack and Angelo didn't get to say goodbye.

Special Labor Day edition, with some thoughts on the highs and lows of the holiday weekend programming: FRIDAY With only two episodes to go, how will Torchwood: Miracle Day (Starz, 10/9c) wrap things up? This penultimate episode jumps forward two months as the embattled remnants of the Torchwood team strike a deal with the devil to track down the "Blessing" and figure out what's behind the "miracle" that has turned the world upside down and sent everyone (including some longtime Torchwood fans) into a depression.

Who says nothing happens on the weekend before Labor Day? (And we're not talking storm preparations on the East Coast — at least not in this space.) Nowadays, TV almost never takes a holiday, and such is the case this weekend. A few highlights: Torchwood: Miracle Day (Friday, 10/9c, Starz) I wish I could report that last week's terrific episode (Jack's 1920s flashback, which went from romantic to disturbing in a bloody flash as he was revealed as "the blessing") represented a return to form for this otherwise woefully uneven season of Torchwood. But I'm afraid we're back to the present day this week, and the action is just as ridiculously clumsy and the characters (Rex and Esther in particular) as aggravating as ever. Still, with only two episodes to go after this, I'll watch to the end.

Send questions to askmatt@tvguidemagazine.com and follow me on Twitter!Question: Regardless of who wins, I have to say that watching The Glee Project this summer has been a total pleasure. I can't remember another reality competition where I was actually rooting for every contestant, and if Ryan Murphy wanted to add the entire final four to the Glee cast, I don't think I'd mind. But beyond the competition aspect, I love how the show gives us a behind-the-scenes glimpse into how Glee is written and choreographed each week. As a bona fide TV nerd, that's the kind of stuff I find fascinating, and it's given me a new respect for the hard work the regular cast must put in. What are the chances of The Glee Project getting a second season, and what do you think of the ...

Send questions to askmatt@tvguidemagazine.com and follow me on Twitter!Question: WOW is the main word I use for Breaking Bad so far this season! I am amazed how FAST this season started up and I know it will get better and better! The writing is incredible after three seasons and I cannot wait to see what happens next, especially with Gale's "Lab notes" which was sure a shocker at the end of the 1st episode. Any spoilers regarding ...

Hey, Steven Moffat, are you listening? John Barrowman wants back in on Doctor Who! And from the deafening cheers that accompanied the suggestion at Comic-Con, viewers do too. During Thursday's Fan Favorites panel, Doctor Who star Matt Smith told the crowd that he'd love to welcome back Barrowman, who originated the role of Captain Jack Harkness on the long-running sci-fi hit, for the show's upcoming 50th anniversary. "I would love to do it," Barrowman replied Friday at the panel for Starz's Torchwood. (Full disclosure: This reporter moderated it.) "I think it would be disappointing for...

Summer escapism? Nice while it lasted. For those who prefer a more riveting, nail-biting variety of TV, one of cable's darkest masterpieces of mayhem is back after a long absence, having lost none of its sinister allure in its fourth season. For fans of adult, morally murky drama, AMC's criminally intense Breaking Bad is a cause for celebration — though any drinking going on may be just to settle one's nerves. The grim silence is deafening, and the tension nearly unbearable, as the story picks up in the immediate aftermath of last season's climactic shocker, with partners in meth-making crime Walt and Jesse (Emmy winners Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul) facing the consequences of having murdered their fellow chemist to save their own necks.

Each week, TVGuide.com will round up the producers and cast of Torchwood: Miracle Day to answer your burning post-episode questions. In Friday's premiere, "The New World," humanity is hit with immortality, causing panic around the globe. CIA colleagues Rex and Esther begin investigating the phenomenon. Meanwhile, the hunt is on for Gwen, the last remnant of Torchwood, compelling Captain Jack's sudden return. Torchwood Miracle Day's Eve Myles: Without Captain Jack, Gwen is in a strange, lost place Where did Captain Jack go after he left Gwen and Rhys at the end of Children of Earth? It's a mystery — and it looks like

After waiting more than two years for a Season 4 greenlight, Torchwood stars John Barrowman and Eve Myles are quite giddy to be back on set. On a windy day in April, shooting one of the season's final episodes, they may have actually even reverted into school kids. Torchwood hits America: Captain Jack and the gang get racy, explosive in Miracle Day "You're stupid! You're stupid! Stuuuupiiiid!" Barrowman called to Myles, cycling around in a bright red bicycle, while she told stories about Gwen's adventures since Jack left Earth last season. "This is very, very normal," Myles explained. " He looks like Miss Marple, doesn't he? 'You look like Miss Marple!'" "Sorry to interrupt," Barrowman said. "But this is my new beach cruiser!" Myles was admiring. "I love it, John. I love it. I need a pink one. Or a green one. Or a cream one. Or a yellow one...." Eventually, once Barrowman was called back for a scene, Myles was able to tell TVGuide.com about

When Jane Espenson was first approached about joining the writing staff of Torchwood, the veteran television writer whose credits include Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the rebooted Battlestar Galactica had just one thought: "It's going to be hard to get stakes higher than aliens wanting to gobble up the children of Earth."Fortunately for fans waiting to see how immortal alien hunter Captain Jack Harkness would return after suffering the devastating losses he did in 2009's Torchwood: Children of Earth, series creator Russell T. Davies had just the ante-upping answer. For the U.K. hit's fourth season, (premiering Friday at 10/9c on Starz), he'd move the action from Cardiff, Wales across the pond (and into the bigger-budget land of pay cable), transform actor Bill Pullman into a worldly "monster," and hit Jack with a head-spinning reality in which everyone is cursed with living forever — except, suddenly, him. Watch the trailer for Torchwood: Miracle Day "Immortality sounds fantastic for about a second," says John Barrowman, who has played the unsinkable Jack since the sci-fi show's 2006 launch on BBC Three...
