Ralph Hinkley was minding his own business, a teacher on a field trip with his high school students, when the bus he's driving mysteriously drives itself out into the desert. A startled Ralph is soon visited by aliens, who had decided to endow him with superhuman powers to fight the battle against injustice and crime. To this end, they gave him a special suit and an instruction manual. Unfortunately, Ralph managed to lose the instruction manual, and the aliens have a nasty habit of never being around when you need them.

In Hollywood, familiarity breeds content. That's been especially true in recent weeks as TV writers and executives raid film libraries, looking to adapt movies into primetime series. Among projects now in development: CBS' take on the Jackie Chan/Chris Tucker buddy-cop comedy Rush Hour (this time from Cougar Town's Bill Lawrence) and a comedy based on Paul Weitz's 2004 feature In Good Company. NBC is rebooting two comedies, Real Genius and Problem Child, as well as creating a sequel to Marley & Me.

Fox Might Reboot The Greatest American Hero

Believe it or not... Fox has given a put pilot commitment to The Greatest American Hero, which was created by legendary producer Stephen J. Cannell, Deadline reports. 21 Jump Street directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller will try their hand at rebooting the 1981 cult classic, serving as executive producers alongside Cannell's daughter, Tawnia McKiernan, and the pilot's writer Rodney Rothman.
