The sitcom's third and final season finds George (Jeremy Sisto) and his daughter, Tessa (Jane Levy), considering leaving Chatswin behind and moving back to the city, but eventually deciding what they really need is a fresh start, though only after making a pact not to get sucked back into the soulless suburban culture—good luck with that! This means George will have to get over his breakup with Dallas (Cheryl Hines), and Tessa is forced to confront her feelings about Ryan (Parker Young), who comes home from college with a new girlfriend (Lindsey Shaw). Meanwhile, Lisa (Allie Grant) sets her sights on getting married to Malik (Maestro Harrell); Fred (Chris Parnell) and Sheila (Ana Gasteyer) adopt a little boy when they miss having a son around; Dalia (Carly Chaikin) blames her mother for calling it quits with George; and Dallas returns to her Southern roots for her mother's funeral—and takes Tessa along for the ride.
