The drama follows a group of inspirational women in a rural Cheshire community where the shadow of World War II is casting a dark cloud over their lives. The isolated village couldn't feel further away from the impending bloodshed and battlefields and yet it is not immune from the effects of war. As the conflict takes hold, and separates the women from their husbands, fathers, sons and brothers, the women find themselves under increasing and extraordinary pressures in a rapidly fragmenting world.

Christopher Foyle is a Detective Chief Superintendent in the Hastings Police. It is 1940 and England has its back to the wall in the war against Germany. With this constant threat as a backdrop, plus having to deal with political interference and prioritisation of the military, Foyle quietly goes about doing what he does best: solving murders.

Albert Campion --a bespectacled aristocrat of many pseudonyms, who moves amongst the high class as easily as the the crime underworld-- loves detection and adventure. Aided by his burglar-turned-manservant Magersfontein Lugg, and his policeman friend Stanislaus Oates, Campion unravels eight mysteries over the course of the series. Set in the 1930s, the series is based upon the works of English crime writer Margery Allingham.

The series focused on the exploits of two siblings, Emmy and Max, in possession of an enchanted dragon scale capable of transporting them to a whimsical fantasy land inhabited by colorful anthropomorphic dragons upon their recitation of a rhyme. Befriended by four friendly talking dragons with distinctive personalities, Ord, Cassie, Zak, and Wheezie, they frequently travel to Dragon Land and help their friends in fulfilling particular quests, assisting them in their daily problems, and learning important morals through their experiences with the educational whimsy of Dragon Land.

A look at animals in their natural habitats also explores key scientific concepts that the animals' actions and behaviors exemplify.

At Walkerville Elementary School, one class has a unique way of learning about the world with their teacher, Ms. Frizzle. To illustrate the science concepts they discuss, they always take a field trip on the Magic School Bus, a magic vehicle that can go anywhere and be anything as they explore space, the arctic, the human body, and more in order to have a firsthand experience of the principles of science.
