Adrian Monk (Tony Shalhoub) returns in Season 7 as the obsessive-compulsive detective who, along with his faithful assistant Natalie Teeger (Traylor Howard), assists the Homicide Division of the San Francisco Police Department and hunts for his wife's murderer. His adventures this season involve investigating the disappearance of an actress, a TV news-magazine profile, becoming trapped on a submerged submarine and having a battle of wits with a brilliant chess master. Dr. Neven Bell (Héctor Elizondo) takes over as Monk's psychiatrist and attempts to help him cope with his OCPD and 312 phobias, which include crowds, messes, imperfections, small spaces and milk. Guest stars include Sarah Silverman as Monk's number-one fan, Bob Costas, Howie Mandel, Andy Richter and Gena Rowlands, in an Emmy-nominated performance.
