In the eighth and final season, Adrian Monk (Tony Shalhoub) continues to work with the Homicide Division of the San Francisco Police Department. His cases involve a murder related to a UFO sighting, victims who receive voodoo dolls before their deaths, guarding a former child star and rejoining the police force. Monk's former assistant, Sharona Fleming (Bitty Schram), returns to San Francisco, and he finds himself torn between her and his current assistant, Natalie Teeger (Traylor Howard). Dr. Neven Bell (Héctor Elizondo) continues to help Monk with his OCPD and numerous phobias, especially when they threaten to derail his investigative abilities. And Monk makes a breakthrough in finding his wife's murder. Guest stars include Eric Stonestreet, Meat Loaf, Teri Polo, Jack Wagner and Craig T. Nelson as "The Judge."
