That's What I Am
A coming-of-age story set in 1965 that follows 12-year-old Andy Nichol (Chase Ellison), a bright student who, like most kids his age, will do anything to avoid conflict for fear of suffering overwhelming ridicule and punishment from his junior-high peers. Everyone's favorite teacher, Mr. Simon (Ed Harris), pairs Andy with the school's biggest outcast and social pariah, Stanley, aka "Big G" (Alexander Walters), on a critical term project. Sporting thick orange hair, a head too big for his body, and ears too big for his head, "Big G" has been the object of ridicule since grade school. Before long, Andy learns that Mr. Simon had a good reason to team up those two boys. As the story unfolds, Mr. Simon finds himself the target of a malicious rumor after Principal Kelner (Amy Madigan) suspends a school bully for brutally beating up a female classmate whom he thinks has "cooties." As Andy watches, "Big G" fearlessly confronts the bully, triggering a series of events which change the lives of both lads--and their teacher--forever. Much to Andy's surprise, "Big G" is a brilliant, kind, tolerant, decent human being who has more dignity than anyone Andy has ever encountered.

Life
In the mid-1990s, two inmates bury the burned bodies of two lifers at Mississippi's infamous Parchman Farm as a third old-timer relates their story. They'd served 65 years for a murder they didn't commit, framed by a local sheriff while buying moonshine whiskey for a Manhattan club owner to whom they owed money. Flashbacks depict how this odd couple was thrown together (Ray is a fast-talking con man, and Claude is a serious man about to start work as a bank teller), the loss of Ray's watch (sterling silver, from his daddy), the murder and trial, the hardships of Parchman, and the love/hate relationship of Claude and Ray as they spend 65 years bickering and looking for a way to escape.

The Car
Among the goings-on of the sheriffs in largely rural and desert landscaped Thomas County, California include: divorced Wade Parent trying to introduce the notion to his two adolescent daughters, Lynn Marie and Debbie, of their teacher, Lauren Humphries, possibly becoming their new mother; Everett Peck believing that his first love, Bertha Clements, is being physically abused by her husband, blasting contractor Amos Clements; and alcoholic Luke Johnson being two years sober. Their goings-on and issues take a back seat when they have to investigate a numbers of deaths in different incidents, all seemingly related to a driver in what few eyewitnesses inconclusively identify as a large dark-colored sedan purposely running the victims down. Wade ends up leading the investigation and as more and more deaths occur, more evidence is collected *except* who the driver is. That increasing evidence includes the viciousness of the incidents and the seemingly nondestructive nature of the car. But what is happening may not be as simple as it appears on the surface, Wade and the others who will have to figure out the underlying issue to be able to neutralize the "car" hopefully forever.

André Is an Idiot
Unexpected, irreverent, and definitely heartfelt, ANDRÉ IS AN IDIOT is a wildly life-affirming film about death and about the strange clarity that arrives when time suddenly becomes finite. When André Ricciardi, a self-proclaimed "idiot" for skipping the colonoscopy that could have saved him, learns he is dying, he turns his final chapter into an experiment in radical honesty, humor, and curiosity. A lifelong iconoclast and ad-industry provocateur, André has never done anything the conventional way, and confronting mortality proves no different: he picks up a camera, cracks a joke, and begins to ask the biggest questions of his life with disarming candor. In a deeply collaborative partnership with director Tony Benna, André's inner world - his stories, fears, philosophies, and absurdist imagination - is brought to life through fantastical stop-motion animation woven into vérité footage. These animated interludes illuminate the way André processes both joy and dread, transforming the film into a playful yet profound portrait of a man determined to face death as openly and ridiculously as he has lived. ANDRÉ IS AN IDIOT is ultimately a celebration of resilience, creative audacity, and the kind of fearless humor that refuses to let darkness have the last word. It invites audiences to rethink what "normal" looks like in the face of sickness and loss - and to consider that sometimes, the best way to survive life's cruelties is simply to laugh at them.
