"People like me don't get opportunities like this ... and I never would've thought this opportunity would be something I could have," Higgins said during the live announcement Monday night, which first brought out Nick Viall as a tease, on After Paradise. "I'm excited. Everything leading up to this has been incredible, and I'm ready to get this thing started."

The 26-year-old software salesman from Denver was sent home from The Bachelorette just before the finale. Although he and Kaitlyn seemed to have a strong connection, in the end she kept Shawn and Nick as her final two.
"He is a great guy, and what you see is what you get," host Chris Harrison told us after his exit. "He's so handsome, has a great self-deprecating sense of humor, and he's down-to-earth, which is rare when you find a guy with a package like that — God doesn't give it all to you!"
