Exclusive Video: Barbara Walters Reveals the Biggest Lesson She's Learned on Master Class
Barbara Walters has learned a lot throughout her 50-plus years as a journalist, and on Sunday's episode of Oprah's Master Class, she's sharing the most significant piece of wisdom she can impart on others.
"The most important thing a journalist or interviewer can do is to listen," she says in the exclusive clip below. "Too often we write questions down and no matter what, we go onto our second question and our third question because that's the way we've written them. We shouldn't. The first question gets asked and the second question should be, why? How come? Tell me more. ... If you don't listen you're not a journalist."
