Kanye West Sued Over "Bound 2" Sample
The child singer whose 1971 song is sampled on Kanye West's already-notorious "Bound 2" is suing the rapper for sampling his voice without permission. According to New York's Daily News, Ricky Spicer, 56, filed the lawsuit Mondayin Manhattan Supreme Court, demanding that West pay for his use of the Ponderosa Twins Plus One's song "Bound" or cease and desist. Spicer, who recorded the "fallin' in love" refrain on the R&B group's song when he was 12, says in the suit that he was shocked to hear himself on the radio when "Bound 2" was released in June. "Mr. Spicer's voice is sampled exactly as he recorded it and his voice ... is heard several times," the suit reads.

According to his bandmate and uncle DJ Paul, Lord Infamous died in his sleep of a heart attack at his mother's house in Memphis. He had not been recently ill, though the rapper did suffer a stroke and heart attack in 2010.

Shia LaBeouf Apologizes for Plagiarizing Ghost World's Daniel Clowes with Plagiarized Apology
Though critics enjoyed Shia LaBeuof's 2012 directorial debutHowardCantour.com, after making the film available on Vimeo Monday, the tide quickly turned once viewers began to notice the nearly identical resemblance to Daniel Clowes' 2007 comic Justin M. Damiano. LaBeouf doesn't even bother to hide the source material in the film, stealing Clowes' opening narration verbatim, along with several other lines of dialogue, but the actor failed to cite Clowes in the credits. Once the criticism began gathering speed, the video was taken offline (though it is still available on Buzzfeed). Celebs who've survived scandal Clowes, who's best known for Ghost World, said he's "shocked" and doesn't understand why LaBeouf would so shamelessly steal his work. "The first I ever heard of the film was this morning when someone sent me a link. I've never spoken to or met Mr. LaBeouf," Clowes toldBuzzfeed. "I've never even seen one of his films that I can recall — and I was shocked, to say the least, when I saw that he took the script and even many of the visuals from a very personal story I did six or seven years ago and passed it off as his own work. I actually can't imagine what was going through his mind."
