Question: The ending of the Smallville premiere suggested something sinister in Lionel Luthor's character this year. Hey, Mr. ...
Question: Hey, Mr. Super-Obsessed-with-Yourself, how 'bout something on Weeds? Answer: Hey, Mr. Pothead, here ya go: The last four episodes are pretty freakin' intense and revolve mainly around the relationship between Nancy and Silas. Things get more heated between the two, especially after he learns of her "business arrangement" with Peter. Also, two unexpected characters will get involved with each other; another will end up on the road to South America; the Armenians will return; several "friends" will betray Nancy; and by the season finale, someone will be dead.

Question: Fight on! Gilmore Girls is filming at USC this week. I just saw Lorelai and Christopher go to Yale Parents' Weekend. Any Battlestar scoop?Answer: Thanks for the Gilmore tip, fellow Trojan! And re: Battlestar, um, ask me again next week. I think I'll have something extra scoopy.OK, I'm gonna sign off here. But before I go, please give a warm welcome to my new, part-time partner in scoop-hunting, Northwestern junior/TV Guide intern Scott Sode. He'll be pitching in over the next few weeks in exchange for college credit, the honor of working alongside me, and a one-time-only, career-boosting shout-out in Ask Ausiello. Talk about hitting the jackpot. Now, head on over to the Ask Ausiello discussion thread in the Ausiello Report to complain about all the shows I
You told us that Jeffrey Dean ...
Question: You told us that Jeffrey Dean Morgan was going to be in more than one episode of Supernatural this season, and then John Winchester dies at the end of last week's premiere! Is he somehow not really dead?Answer: Actually, exec producer Eric Kripke said that, and he's standing by his words. "John Winchester really is dead," Kripke insists. "But the show is called Supernatural, and characters can come back in all sorts of ways. In the short term, we want the boys to deal with their dad’s unexpected death, and all the drama and angst that comes out of that, so we won’t see John for a little while. But this isn’t the last we hear from him." In other words, be careful who you call a liar, Charissa!

Question: Here's a link to the story about William Petersen's contract ending this season on CSI. Oh, yes, this column just oozes power!

Lisa Lackey, who some of you may remember as ADA Munson on NYPD Blue, has taken over the role. And another major character (kinda) dies next week. But not in the same way that Isaac (kinda) died this week.

Why isn't there any scoop on ...
Question: Why isn't there any scoop on The Wire? It is one of the best shows on TV right now.Answer: And I feel awful for not watching it. Truly I do. But until I have a reason to fly to Australia, I don't foresee having 97 hours of uninterrupted downtime in my future to catch up on all those DVDs. So I'm just gonna have to take everyone's word for it. Meanwhile, according to someone who has seen the next batch of episodes, I hear there are some major twists coming in Episode 6 concerning Carcetti ******** ***** and Omar ******* busted *** * ****** ** *** *** ******.
I'm hooked on Jericho. Any ...
Question: I'm hooked on Jericho. Any dish on upcoming episodes?Answer: I'm hooked, too! And I so didn't want to be! In the coming weeks, the electricity and phones will be restored, only to go down again when the power surges, causing fires to rage all over town. Right around this time, several townsfolk will learn that the federal government has officially been shut down, so they're basically on their own in maintaining law and order. (This is where Gerald McRaney's Deadwood experience will come in handy.) Meanwhile, CBS sent out this cryptic teaser about the Oct. 25 episode: "Allison, Hawkin's daughter, starts to question her father's motive for moving to Jericho."

I'm such a huge fan of ...
Question: I'm such a huge fan of Kidnapped. Do you see it lasting for a full season? Answer: Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I just got word that the show is essentially dead. Producers have been told to finish making 13 episodes, and then stop. On the bright side, another Reunion this is not. They had a contingency plan in place that lets them wrap up the mystery by then.
