22 Episodes 2006 - 2007
The first season of this sitcom introduces us to the Starks, two middle-aged wedded warriors who are showing their newlywed young neighbors the ropes. The older Eddie (Brad Garrett) and Joy (Joely Fisher) bicker constantly, but they clearly love each other and are in it until the end. However, their advice to neighbors Jeff (Eddie Kaye Thomas) and Steph (Kat Foster) often causes more problems than it solves, including the instigation of the young couple's first fight. The Starks' daughter, Allison (Krysten Ritter), is introduced mid-season, and she makes numerous appearances thereafter, including in the season finale, which features the first appearance of her boyfriend, Doug (Timm Sharp).
