Brad Eliot hitchhikes into Genoa City with a truck driver. It's clear he's been mugged. He has memories of telling his girlfriend Barbara to get an abortion. Then asks the driver to drop him in town. Meanwhile, Sally McGuire is bored of her life as she spends the morning with her lover Bill 'Snapper' Foster Jr. Snapper tells Sally he has plans to meet with Stuart Brooks at Pierre's, the restaurant where Sally is a waitress. Sally is a little jealous, after all, Snapper is dating Stuart's daughter Chris. Snapper reminds her they agreed on a no strings relationship. Chris arrives home and talks with her sister about love and relationships. She's certain Leslie couldn't love anyone as much as the piano and admits that she's in love with Snapper. She wants to marry him and have kids. Leslie knows, the whole family knows. Even their sister Lorie in Paris would know if she was here. She reminds Chris that she has no idea how Snapper feels. Stuart and Snapper have lunch and Stu tries to figure the young man out. He knows he came from a broken home when his father walked out on his mother, sister Jill and brother Greg six years ago. Stu wonders why Snapper chose medicine. Snapper wants to live like Stuart one day. Stuart wonders why Snapper has never been over to meet the family. He feels Chris is falling in love with him. Snapper explains that marriage, to anyone, is the furthest thing from his mind. At the next table, Brad has been dining, but has no money to pay. Pierre is furious, but Stuart, intrigued by the man, offers to cover his meal. Elsewhere in Chicago, Barbara Anderson is at the police station. She identifies Brad Eliot's belongings and knows there was a car crash. She asks if Brad's okay, and is shocked when the police officer tells her he's dead.
