General Hospital Leads Daytime Emmy Nominations

CBS is the most nominated network

The Daytime Emmy nominations are here and ABC's General Hospital reigns supreme going into the 2018 ceremony.

The medical soap, which recently notched its 14,000th episode, landed 26 Daytime Emmy nominations, nearly beating out Days of Our Lives and The Young and the Restlesswith 25 nods each. All three will compete for Outstanding Drama Series with CBS' The Bold and the Beautiful. Days of Our Lives stars Bill and Susan Seaforth Hayes and Sid and Marty Krofft will be honored with this year's lifetime achievement awards. The Kroffts will receive their prize at the Daytime Creative Arts Emmys with the Hayeses receiving their trophy during the Daytime Emmy ceremony on April 29.

Days of Our Lives Renewed for Season 54

Overall, CBS landed the most attention for any singular network with a whopping 66 nominations. Not only did the network's soaps get nominated, but it also landed nods forThe Talk, CBS This Morningand CBS Sunday Morning.

The usual suspects round out the entertainment talk show category including: The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Real, The Talk, The View and Live with Kelly and Ryan. The game show category is stacked with bids from Let's Make a Deal, The Price Is Right, Family Feud, Jeopardy!andWho Wants to Be a Millionaire.

The Daytime Emmy Awards will be hosted by Mario Lopez and Sheryl Underwood on April 29 in Pasadena, Calif. A full list of the Daytime Emmy's 70 categories and nominees can be found here.
