In Season 6 of the legal drama, Eli Gold (Alan Cumming) persuades Alicia (Julianna Margulies) to explore running for State's Attorney and it isn't long before she officially throws her hat in the ring as the Democratic candidate. Running against her is Frank Prady (David Hyde Pierce), a highly respected legal commentator, and the two run campaigns that sometimes hit below the belt. Meanwhile, Diane (Christine Baranski) considers leaving her firm and joining Florrick/Agos as a partner; and the Feds approach Cary (Matt Czuchry) to help them build a case against notorious drug lord Lemond Bishop (Mike Colter) or risk going to prison. On the romantic front, Alicia fights her attraction to colleague Finn Polmar (Matthew Goode). Also, charismatic killer Colin Sweeney (Dylan Baker) returns to sue a TV producer for basing an unflattering character on him; and manipulative lawyer Louis Canning (Michael J. Fox) makes a shocking proposal to Alicia. Guest stars include: Ed Asner; Oliver Platt; Linda Lavin; and Laura Benanti.
