Season 2 of this nostalgic slice-of-life comedy features more shenanigans from the Goldberg family. Beverly (Wendi McLendon-Covey) is as overprotective and domineering as ever, going so far as to cast Adam (Sean Giambrone) in a rival play after he fails to get a leading role in the school musical. And she even attempts to get Coach Meller (Bryan Callen) fired for criticizing her "schmoo" during a game of dodgeball. Adam, for his part, tries to come into his own, but a host of missteps, coupled with Beverly's overbearing behavior, hamstring his efforts. Barry (Troy Gentile) continues his pursuit of Lainey (AJ Michalka) and tries to make himself cooler, even mimicking the plot of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" in one episode. Meanwhile, Pops (George Segal) briefly moves in when he gets evicted for starting a fire. Jeff Garlin and Hayley Orrantia also star.
