During king Edward I's war against the Scots, champion knight Wilkin Brattle was betrayed and left for dead by traitor rivals, now Baron Ventris and his right hand, chamberlain Milus Corbett, who terrorize their Welsh county subjects and extort neighbor baron Pryce for access to the sea.
