John Wood plays Bill Quinn, a family man who is hated by his family, and with good reason. Bill gets killed on Christmas Day, smothered by the stomach padding of his Santa suit. Guest detective Dave O'Neil is on the scene. The suspects are those near and dear to Bill. Perhaps his loving and supportive wife Marjorie (Denise Drysdale) is guilty? Maybe his introverted daughter Michelle (Robyn Butler), wasn't so introverted after all? Bill's son, Steve (Dave Lawson) always had an eye on the inheritance, did he want to get his hands on it sooner rather than later? Maybe Bill's daughter-in-law Ally (Nicola Parry) was fed-up with his controlling ways and sought to control the situation herself?
