They tell heartbreaking stories to the store owners. If asked for proof, they give the phone numbers of the conartists as their parents.

They are warned by a mechanic not to buy the car but the salesman talked them into the car. The couple end up in an accident. The husband is injured. A member of Racket Squad interviews the couple and asks why they did not get auto insurance. The couple was crossing state lines and didn't feel they needed insurance until they got to their new home. The mechanic visits the couple in Hospital and confesses that the car dealer was paying the mechanic to fix up old wrecks that have 80,000.00 miles on them (LOL). It shows old tricks for fixing up clunkers. Putting old cork in the differential....etc. And winding back the speedometer. And regrooving ply tires.

A charming stranger acquaints himself with a wealthy family. After a while he reveals to them that instead of gas his car is running on a mixture of water and a special pellet. As this is much cheaper than gas, the oil companies threatened him, he says, when he tried to put this new product on the market. The wealthy family get excited by the prospect of gaining big profits from producing and selling the miraculous pellet. They give him all their money to secure the rights for it.
