The Pritchett clan begin Season 6 in summer bliss. Alex (Ariel Winter) is on a humanitarian trip, Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) and Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) are returning from their honeymoon and everyone is getting along quite nicely. After Alex returns, however, the mood shifts back to normal and the extended family resumes its usual antics. Gloria (Sofía Vergara) is unhappy after noticing Jay (Ed O'Neill) puts little effort into his appearance, and Cameron isn't ready to leave the honeymoon behind. Other noteworthy stories see the Dunphys temporarily move into a small hotel room while their house gets treated for mold, Phil (Ty Burrell), Luke (Nolan Gould) and Manny (Rico Rodriguez) try to stop a Peeping Tom from spying on Gloria and a near-death experience for the Dunphys and Manny. Also, Alex begins her college search and makes a push to be valedictorian.
