In commercials for the Comedy Central Roast of David Hasselhoff (airing Sunday, August 15, 10/9c), the actor gamely acknowledges the abundance of material that is likely to be slung at him at the legendary no-holds-barred event: Knight Rider, Baywatch, the undying devotion of his German fans to his music and, of course, "the video." That's the infamous clip from 2007 in which one of Hasselhoff's two daughters pleads with her shirtless, intoxicated father to stop drinking, all while he munches on a hamburger. Will Arnett Brings Knight Rider's Three KITTs to Life
Jack Donaghy is going to have something to say about this. Not being a gearhead, the most interesting thing I culled from NBC's press release about the Knight Rider relaunch movie premiering Feb. 17 is that Alec Baldwin's gravelly voiced 30 Rock rival, Will Arnett, will take the baton from William Daniels and speak for KITT. Or make that the KITTs, as the Transformers-esque update boasts not one but three supercars: a Ford Mustang Shelby GT500KR as "everyday hero" KITT; the KITT Attack, aka a high-speed version of the GT500KR featuring "air-ride technology and specialized body parts"; and KITT Remote, which is driverless (akin to having Lindsay behind the wheel).It's also confirmed that David Hasselhoff will return as Michael Knight in "a special guest-star appearance."

Knight Rider Revamp Gets Hasselhoffed
This was a no-brainer, wasn't it? And I don't just mean David Hasselhoff himself. The original Knight Rider is in talks to appear in the upcoming TV-movie/backdoor pilot, playing the father that soap hunk Justin Bruening's speed demon never knew. Deanna Russo, who recently played doctor on The Young and the Restless (Hoff's old stomping grounds), has also joined the cast as Bruening's old flame, a beautiful but brilliant engineer (aren't they all?) who is told by the talking car that her father is MIA. — Ben Katner
New Knight Rider Driven by Soap Stud
Stick with me here. Former The Young and the Restless heartthrob David Hasselhoff played Michael Knight in the original Knight Rider series. Now, former All My Children heartthrob Justin Bruening — who on his ABC sudser played son to Emmy-winner Michael E. Knight — has been tapped to play the son of Michael Knight in a TV-movie that will serve as a backdoor pilot to a possible Knight Rider reboot.Let me throw you one more nugget: Another onetime AMC cast mate of Bruening's is Las Vegas' Josh Duhamel, who this summer starred in Transformers — and the new Knight Rider will feature a Transformers-like, shapeshifting K.I.T.T.
NBC Takes Knight Rider for Another Spin
"Michael, I don't like the sound of this.... "NBC has put director Doug Liman in the driver's seat of a two-hour TV-movie that will reboot that '80s show Knight Rider and ideally serve as a backdoor pilot for a new series. ("No, Michael, not the back door.... ") Variety reports that the plan is to air the flick later this season, and if successful/not entirely abysmal, have a new series ready for fall 2008. Dave Andron (Raines) is penning the script and will exec-produce with Liman and Dave Bartis (Heist).The vision for this redo is to take advantage of current TV special effects to allow K.I.T.T. some Transformers-esque shapeshifting. (But no, Hoff, no amount of state-of-the-art trickery will get you your old job back.)
