In Search of Liberty Bell 7

This Discovery Channel adventure documents the search for the Liberty Bell-7, the only manned NASA space capsule that was never recovered. James Earl Jones narrates the deep sea search of a 24-mile region off the beaches of Florida to locate the capsule of Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Virgil I. "Gus" Grissom. The landing almost cost Grissom his life; the hatch opened prematurely, flooding the capsule, and Grissom came close to drowning in his water-filled spacesuit. The capsule rapidly sank more than three miles into the sea below. Marine recovery specialist Curt Newport leads the expedition to locate and make an effort at recovering the capsule, in order to end the mystery surrounding this lost space craft of the 1960s.
