The second season of Fringe finds Olivia Dunham (Anna Torv) and Peter Bishop (Joshua Jackson) as key players in a war between prime and parallel universes. As Olivia struggles to heighten her ability to access the parallel universe, she learns several shocking secrets regarding Peter and Walter's history. Peter, believing he himself is from the parallel universe, deserts his father and the Fringe division to find his "true" father, who offers to take him back to the universe in which he was born. Though Peter quickly agrees, Olivia and Walter deduce he is being used in a plan intended to destroy the prime universe.
