Dr. Zarkoff's request to test his new anti-gravitation device on a remote planet is denied because of the mysterious deaths of most of a recent scientific expedition that recently explored the world. The sole survivor's wild tale of an idol's curse is dismissed by Flash and he, Dale and Zarkoff return to the planet to investigate.

A filmed half-hour detective series, nine episodes of which were originally produced in 1949 by CBS but never aired on that network. DuMont bought the films and produced four more episodes in 1952. Each week New York Private Investigator Eddie Drake (Don Haggerty) relates one of his adventures to Dr. Karen Gayle, (Patricia Morrison), a lady Psychiatrist who is compiling a Volume on Criminal Psychology. In the final 4 episodes filmed in 1952, Patrcia Morison was replaced by actress Lynne Roberts portraying Dr Joan Wright as the Criminologist.

"Guardian of the Safety of the World", private citizen-scientist Captain Video, assisted by his teenage helper The Ranger and an army of Video Rangers, preserves the peace in the far-off future, fighting the evil Dr. Pauli of the Astroidal Society and a bunch of other baddies (Nargola, Mook, Kul, Clysmok). The show appeared nightly Mon-Fri, featured many outlandish weapons and techno-gimmicks, and was run on a minuscule prop budget.

One of DuMont's most popular and lasting programs, this live crime series was set in New York. It not only kept Roscoe Karns from retirement but cast him opposite his son Todd. The DuMont offices and corridors were used as sets. At the end of each program, Rocky King would exchange telephone small talk with his unseen wife Mabel and, after hanging up, say to no one in particular, "Great girl, that Mabel."
