A spin-off of the 2005 movie "Are We There Yet?," which starred Ice Cube as Nick Persons, a player who tries to woo a divorcée by shuttling around her two hard-to-handle kids, features Terry Crews stepping in as Nick for the TV version, which revolves more around a blended family's ups and downs. Essence Atkins plays Nick's new wife, Suzanne Kingston-Persons, and Teala Dunn and Coy Stewart play Suzanne's children from her first marriage, Lindsey and Kevin. The clan are followed as they navigate the pratfalls of blended-family life and the everyday events that come with it, from soccer games to science projects. Ice Cube served as one of the series' producers and also plays Suzanne's brother Terrence in a recurring role.
