It's a bird... it's a plane... it's a new Arrowverse series! The CW is beefing up its already stacked roster of superhero shows with a potential new series centered on Superman and Lois Lane, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The project, titled Superman & Lois, will follow the famed hero and iconic journalist as they deal with the stress and complicated issues that come with being working parents in society. Supergirl's Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch are set to reprise their roles as the titular characters, Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane, respectively.

The potential spin-off series is also enlisting familiar behind-the-scenes talent, with Todd Helbing, who stepped down from his post as The Flash's showrunner earlier this year, attached to write the script and executive produce. Arrowverse mastermind Greg Berlanti will also serve as a producer.

Everything We Know About the Arrowverse's Crisis on Infinite Earths Crossover

Hoechlin first appeared as Superman on Supergirl in 2016, while Tulloch's Lois Lane was introduced in last year's Arrowverse crossover. Both actors are set to appear in this year's five-way crossover event, which will feature multiple iterations of the characters. In addition to Hoechlin, Crisis on Infinite Earths has tapped Smallville's Tom Welling and DC's Legends of Tomorrow's Brandon Routh (who donned the red cape in the 2006 film Superman Returns) to play Clark Kent. Plus, Erica Durance will also join reprise her Smallville role as Lois Lane for the epic event alongside Tulloch's Lane.

The new comes after The CW announced that a female-led Arrow spin-off focused on Mia Smoak (Katherine McNamara), Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy), and Dinah Drake (Juliana Harkavy) was also in development.

This year's Arrowverse crossover kicks off with Supergirl on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 8/7c, and continuing on Batwoman on Monday, Dec. 9 and The Flash on Tuesday, Dec. 10. After winter break, the crossover will pick up again on Tuesday, Jan. 14 with a new episode of Arrow at 8/7c before concluding with DC's Legends of Tomorrow at 9/8c.
