LL Cool J is goin' back to New York, New York, New York

Allegra Edwards, Parker Young, and Ed Weeks, Eternally Yours
Bertrand Calmeau/CBSCBS, the most traditional of all the major broadcast networks, broke tradition by announcing its fall schedule in April rather than the typical Upfronts period in May. Why? You'll have to ask CBS. But aside from bucking that trend, CBS's schedule for the 2026-2027 looks conventional, with its usual mix of familiar procedurals and long-running reality series.
Because so many of CBS's shows dodged the ax and are returning, there was only room for four new shows on CBS's 2026-2027 schedule. Chief among them is the hourlong legal drama Cupertino, from TV Guide favorites Robert and Michelle King (Evil, The Good Fight), starring Mike Colter as a lawyer combating tech company greed. It joins CBS's Thursdays at 10/9c, pushing Elsbeth up an hour to 9/8c and moving Matlock back to midseason.
In a surprise announcement, the NCIS franchise is expanding again with NCIS: New York, with CBS favorite LL Cool J reprising his role as Special Agent Sam Hanna alongside a new partner played by Scott Caan. It joins NCIS Tuesdays at 9/8c, sandwiched between NCIS and NCIS: Origins. NCIS: Sydney will return at midseason.
Also coming at midseason is the hourlong comedy-drama Einstein, starring Criminal Minds' Matthew Gray Gubler as the bad-boy great grandson of famed brilliant mind Albert Einstein who helps a local detective (Melissa Fumero) solve crimes. And the lone new sitcom for the season is Eternally Yours, a comedy from the creators of Ghosts that follows a vampire couple (Ed Weeks and Allegra Edwards) living in Seattle. The show will take Ghosts' spot on Thursdays at 8:30/7:30c, with Ghosts moving to midseason. To make the hiatus a little less (or more?) haunting, Ghosts will air one-hour specials this fall for Halloween and Ghostmas.
