The Reaping

Director Craig Zobel's satirical horror-thriller is based on Richard Connell's 1924 short story "The Most Dangerous Game." The film stars Betty Gilpin, Emma Roberts, Ethan Suplee, Ike Barinholtz, and Hilary Swank. Twelve strangers wake up to find themselves in a remote and deserted clearing, at the mercy of a group of globalist elites who have gathered to hunt them down for sport. One woman (Gilpin) fights ferociously for her life, eventually turning the tables on the hunters.

The atmospheric direction of Robert Mulligan and the first-rate writing of Tom Tryon (based on his own novel) place The Other at a notch above the seemingly endless parade of demonic horror films of the 1970s. The story takes place on a small Connecticut farm in 1935 and concerns a luckless family that finds itself further plagued by a violent series of mysterious deaths. It seems that the curious deaths have something to do with Alexandra Udvarnoky's (Diana Muldaur) twin sons -- ten year old Chris (Niles Perry) and Martin (Holland Perry). Martin is shy, withdrawn, and somber, while Chris behaves like a normal ten-year-old boy. The question the film poses is which twin is good and which is evil -- and has he caused the killings?

A domestic abuse survivor grows convinced that her wealthy scientist ex-boyfriend has discovered a way to make himself invisible and is stalking her after faking his own death and leaving her a part of his fortune.

Upon receiving a conviction for his crimes, a notorious serial killer faces the death penalty. Yet on the day his execution is scheduled, his court-ordered psychiatric evaluation takes a significant turn as he claims to be possessed by a demon. The serial killer then curses the psychiatrist to a grisly fate of his own, with dire consequences. Chuck Konzelman and Cary Solomon co-write and co-direct the horror. Co-starring Sean Patrick Flanery, Jordan Belfi, and Eric Hanson.

When he has a vision of his flight to Paris crashing, a teen traveling with his French club makes a scene and they are all kicked off the airline. The plane goes down and the survivors are grateful, but Death hunts them down.

Paul is an oil rig inspector and brings his family along for one of his jobs. When they get there, things feel different and the rig seemed to be completely abandoned. Paul quickly learns that the rig is surrounded by Tlaloc, The Black Demon. Tlaloc is a massive shark that capsizes their boat and strands the family out in the middle of the ocean.
