Grey's Anatomy I think my mother, Joan, summed it up best: "I like these catch-up episodes. Just like last week's Desperate Housewives recap, it helped me to get caught up since I missed a few here and there." Thanks, Joan. And it especially helps when you love the show. This hour did a great job capturing just about all the best scenes, plus it solidified exactly why we love the show so much: It has great characters whom we care about. But what goes into making great characters is a combination of fantastic writing and top-notch acting. Grey's Anatomy Who knew that Meredith...

Grey's AnatomyWho knew that Meredith would be the one to help Derek move on and go back to being intimate with Addison? How very adult of "miserable diseased dirty ex-mistress" Meredith to be so supportive. Luckily it helped her own sanity and confidence, since she met that new guy at the end. Loved that she asked if he was a doctor. Other highlights of this thankfully non-"very special" Thanksgiving episode:- So great to see Burke being social and cordial ("call me Preston"), as well as being such a good cook.- Brian Kerwin was extremely effective as the guy who woke up after being a vegetable for 16 years. How horrible for him to find out his wife got remarried and is pregnant, but I liked that he wanted to hear this news from Meredith.-

Aiiight, so it was Lucas who saved Dan. You guys were right. Damn that meddling kid! God, we'd all be so much better off without that tool. Then again, that would leave us in serious need of a villain, and that witchypoo-looking high-school hag teasing my Haley totally won't cut it. Nor will Ellie, now that we know that Peyton's prodigal mama was only scoring weed to deal with her cancer symptoms. Didn't really see that one coming. What I did see was Hilarie Burton doing some of her best work ever. Oooh, the heartache. And how odd to have her there to stop Dan from throttling Lucas. Being Nathan's ex, she's probably seen the Bad Dad of the Century acting up, but murderous? I was half expecting her to announce that she was the one who tried to torch his sorry butt. Huh.
