Throughout the Ming Dynasty, Ping Yang village has served as its financial center. Due to the constant threats of looting and robbery, an industry was born: The Travelguard Agency. The Travelguard developed protocols in order to safely transport valuables from one town to another. They protected and delivered for banks and local governments and were a large part of keeping the economy thriving earning the Travelguard and anyone who worked in it the highest of praise and honor from the community. Eleven-year-old "Tiger", is an orphan who grew up at the Four-Seas Escort Agency. Unlike most of the children in this town, Tiger dreams about being a certified Travelguard. He was inspired by one of the greatest legendary Travelguards at the time: Master Yang. He and his team were requested to complete a special delivery by the emperor. Against all odds, Yang completes the delivery, but was never to be seen again. No one knows what actually happened, and, as time passed, the name---Master Yang--- was almost forgotten, except for Tiger. Because of his tale, Tiger has always aspired to be a "hero" like Master Yang, and he would be well on his way, except for the fact that attaining the qualifications to be a certified Travelguard might prove too challenging for Tiger - In a stroke of luck, Tiger gets a chance to work with the "famous" Master Yang. However, Master Yang is not his hero of legend but a scruffy, unshaven alcoholic slob. Despite his apprehensions, Yang accompanies Tiger to execute his first delivery and they embark on a journey through a dangerous valley in Northern China.
