Question: What "critic" uses ...
Question: What "critic" uses a word like "scooplicious"? For that matter, which critics are actually raving about your column? I want names. — Stephanie Ausiello: Aunt Joan, David Ausiello, Grandma B., Pete Ausiello, Angel Cohn... Want me to stop there, Steph? 'Cause I can go on.
Question: Is it Tim Matheson? ...
Question: Is it Tim Matheson? He has one Emmy nomination for guest-starring on The West Wing. — Amy Ausiello: Nope.
Question: Why won't you ...
Question: Why won't you answer any of my Numbers questions? Either you don't like the show or you don't like me. — Sarah Ausiello: I like to think the answer falls somewhere in the middle. Regardless, I did some digging and found out that although CBS hasn't officially renewed the show, the network has told the producers to start planning for a second season.
Question: Did Joss Whedon say ...
Question: Did Joss Whedon say anything about reviving Angel as a movie-of-the-week? — Chris Ausiello: Yeah, but it seems that ship has sailed. These days, he's all about the Spikester. "The thing is, David Boreanaz has kind of gone to a new place," Whedon said. "He did the series for five years and the character for a couple of years before that [on Buffy], and the thing about a Spike movie that's different is, well, it's different. In the same way Angel was different than Buffy as a show because of the characters, Spike would be different as a subject and that's what makes it fresh. I don't want to try to recapture the essence of something that I've already done. I want to put a new spin on it."
Question: In last week's ...
Question: In last week's column, you referred to Oz's Lee Tergesen as Denis Leary's replacement on Rescue Me. Did I miss something? Are they really replacing Denis Leary? Please say it isn't so. — Diane Ausiello: It isn't so! As I stated before, Denis... Oh, just click here for my previous explanation. Speaking of Rescue Me, a little birdie told me that a major character will get whacked in the opening moments of the second season premiere, airing in mid June.
Question: What if you had a ...
Question: What if you had a huge scoop about a show but nobody asked the right question that week? I am certain you would plant the question you needed yourself and attach it to a made-up name — and I am willing to bet you have already done this. Spill the truth! — Joshua Ausiello: I don't think I like what you're insinuating, Josh. If I hadn't retired my "I can't believe you're asking me this. It's insulting, honestly. It's absolutely insulting" Award you so would have won it this week. Listen to me carefully when I say I have never — ever — planted a question and then attached a faux name to it. That's beneath this column's dignity.
Question: Hey, Mike, I have ...
Question: Hey, Mike, I have important business to discuss. Can you do some digging and find out if the Third Watch producers plan on ending the show with a cliff-hanger, or are they gonna do some last-minute rewrites to make a fitting series finale? — Mike Ausiello: I've been trying to get NBC to put me on the phone with exec producer Ed Bernero, but so far, no dice. Oh, there's my phone now — quick, send in your questions!
Question: Is there going to ...
Question: Is there going to be a final episode of Enterprise? If so, when will it air? — Tanya Ausiello: The final two episodes will air back-to-back on May 13. The first one, "Terra Prime," will wrap up a two-episode arc featuring Robocop's Peter Weller as a well-armed, radical human isolationist leader who threatens to destroy Starfleet Command unless all aliens leave Earth immediately. And the second one, "These Are the Voyages...," will take place six years in the future as an emotional Captain Archer and Co. return to Earth to face the decommission of Enterprise and the signing of the Federation charter, ratifying the newly formed alliance of planets they helped forge. And then, in the final scene, Spock shows up and does the Macarena.
Question: So, any good ...
Question: So, any good spoilers for House? And, if they pay you enough to answer two questions at a time, when is the season finale? — Morgan Ausiello: No scoops as of this moment, but I'm expecting a call from series creator David Shore any minute now, so send in your questions. And regarding your second question... Oh, there's the phone now — this might be him!
Question: Hey! Ask Ausiello's ...
Question: Hey! Ask Ausiello's like a real column now! Nicely done! — CJ Ausiello: You people can be so nasty sometimes.
Question: Is Cath's love ...
Question: Is Cath's love interest Alan Rosenberg, Marg Helgenberger's real-life husband? — Joanna Ausiello: Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ladies and gentleman, we have a winner! Rosenberg, an Emmy nominee for a 1995 guest turn on ER, will play a criminal defense attorney who catches Cath's eye in an episode to air this May. Exec producer Carol Mendelsohn says the role is "possibly recurring," adding, "We joke that it would be funny if the first guy Catherine really kisses on the show is her husband." Funny for everyone but Gary Dourdan. (And, I suspect, Marg Helgenberger.)
Question: With so many to ...
Question: With so many to choose from, how did you decide which Smurf to bring to the set of Gilmore Girls? — Steven Ausiello: They drew straws and Bashful won. (That was him on the phone earlier.)
Question: Any news at all on ...
Question: Any news at all on a third season of Carniv&#224le? — Tmac Ausiello: Nope. I'm trying desperately to get exec producer Daniel Knauf on the horn to help me dissect Sunday's second-season finale, which, let's face it, was pure genius. If you haven't had a chance to read Matt Roush's morning-after Dispatch on the subject, please do so as soon as you're done with AA. I agree with everything he wrote, save for the part about being at peace if this is the end. Listen carefully, HBO: I will not be at peace if this is the end — I will be at war!
Question: OK, since Alias' ...
Question: OK, since Alias' 90-minute season finale will be on May 25, does that mean Lost's 90-minute finale will be on the same night? — Luis Ausiello: Actually, Lost's 90-minute season finale has just been expanded to two hours. As a result, it appears J.J. Abrams will have to trim Alias' 90-minute climax back to 60 minutes. Or maybe he'll divide it into two episodes. In any event, getting back to your original question, yes, Lost and Alias will wrap up their respective seasons on May 25.
Question: I notice that you ...
Question: I notice that you don't answer a lot of Desperate Housewives questions. I sense you're not a fan, or are a bit resentful these wives may be stealing accolades from some more deserving Girls. — Debby Ausiello: I'd say that's a fair assessment.
Question: Is it possible that ...
Question: Is it possible that Lena Olin might stick around beyond next month's finale (Ask Ausiello 3/23)? — Henry Ausiello: That's entirely up to oh-so-very-fickle Lena Olin. As of now, she's only committed to doing the season finale.
Question: Have you heard ...
Question: Have you heard anything about a second season for Veronica Mars? — Tony Ausiello: At this point it could go either way. I'm told UPN execs will be looking very closely at the ratings for Veronica's final seven original episodes, which began airing last night. Long-story-short: Nancy Drew's fate rests in the hands of the 2,000 American households with Nielsen boxes. Scary but true.
Question: Do you think famous ...
Question: Do you think famous people read your column? — Dionne Ausiello: There's only one way to find out: If you're famous and reading this column, please identify yourself via the feedback box at the bottom of this page. And don't worry, your membership in AA will not be made public if you so request. Unless, of course, you're really famous, in which case all bets are off.
Question: Oh, my god! Please ...
Question: Oh, my god! Please tell me CSI isn't going after Matthew Perry as Catherine's new love interest (Ask Ausiello 3/23). That's just this side of child molestation. Ewwww! Please tell me I'm wrong. — Judy Ausiello: You're wrong.
Question: Have you Googled ...
Question: Have you Googled yourself? Wow — you're everywhere! — Jill Ausiello: Not today, no.
Question: I think I am ...
Question: I think I am falling in love with you. I can't thank you enough for your efforts on this Spike movie (Ask Ausiello 3/23). Boy, you leave no stone unturned, do you? If this film ever gets made, I think you should not only show up in the credits, but a cameo would be cool. — Kathy Ausiello: Hey, wanna be my agent? I'm looking for some new representation. Here are the terms: You get a .10 percent cut of any/all jobs you secure on my behalf. A Deadwood handshake will seal the deal.
