Los Angeles, 1821. Illegitimate as alcade, Don Diego must find a solution to his own problems and those of the city. Urged on by Bernardo, he pulls out his Zorro mask. The vigilante's return is an immediate success... much to Diego's dismay.

Zorro has a personal life. The mask is hanged and our hero makes efforts to live in peace. Fate though has other plans for the retired Zorro. Back on the horse, riding under the velvet night sky. Bureaucracy will not do the job. The capped rider returns to claim his legend and reintroduces himself by freeing a wrongfully imprisoned citizen. That's also how his personal life gets more interesting.
