12 Episodes 2016 - 2016
The second season of the comedy series based on a novel written by Redmond Satran opens right where Season 1 ended, with Liza (Sutton Foster) and Maggie (Debbi Mazar) welcoming Liza's daughter Caitlin (Tessa Albertson) back home from India. Liza finds it hard to explain her recent breakup with Josh (Nico Tortorella), prompting Caitlin to decide to move in with her dad. The breakup doesn't last, though, and the rest of the season centers around Liza and Josh's on-and-off relationship and a love triangle that also involves Charles (Peter Hermann). Meanwhile, Maggie continues being the best friend anyone could ask for; Kelsey (Hilary Duff) is still in the dark about Liza's real age; Diana (Miriam Shor) doesn't let Liza forget that, despite her success, she's still her assistant; and Lauren (Molly Bernard) lets her enthusiasm go overboard on more than one occasion.
