Recently widowed family matriarch Ceil Engel (SCTV vet Andrea Martin) bands her dysfunctional brood together after the death of their breadwinner father, who they discover when Season 1 of the sitcom begins left them with $200,000 of debt. To stay afloat, they go to work at his storefront law firm, despite the fact that only youngest daughter Jenna (Kacey Rohl) has any actual experience as an attorney. With no money to hire a qualified staff, her eccentric relatives will had to do: Sister Sandy (Azura Skye), a former pill popper-turned-life coach, becomes the receptionist; bad-boy brother Jimmy (Benjamin Arthur) takes on the role of investigator; and the slightly narcissistic and overly dramatic Ceil works as the firm's paralegal. Martin Short, Eugene Levy and Scott Thompson make guest appearances and Jason Priestley directs four episodes.
